So I was one of those people who were heavily disappointed with the approach of emulation. I have the PS3, and I bought several classics on it, so if PS4 rehashes the PS3 PS2 classics catalogues, I would be happy repurchasing these games. I know the emulation gives us some HD treatment but upscaling the games, but also they implemented trophy support. I don't want to purchase these games I already own for PS3 at a 14.99 $ price scale. It just feels like a slap in the face. People might say that we should just keep our PS2 and PS3 systems, but I am running out of room with other consoles as well.

Personally, I was really hoping emulation where you can pop in your PS2 discs and play. Not just introducing an enhanced PS2 Classics edition to PS4 -- I feel like it got too much hype for just that.

Well, the dreams of getting backwards compability in some form is going to be well off. Kudos to Xbox One for listening to their fans and bringing back the 360 game support. PS Now doesn't do it for me.

As a PS4 owner who didn't have a PS3, I would certainly like to see proper backwards compatibility but I can't say I'm too bothered by it. It was my choice to not buy a PS3 before and if I really want to play those games that badly I could still buy one now. If the games are added via purchase and download at some point I'll probably just buy them then.

I don't have a pile of PS1 and PS2 games laying around and, frankly, even for those that I do have and did enjoy I don't have much interest in revisiting them now. There's too much stuff I haven't played that does interest me to be going back and replaying old stuff.

Honestly I have zero interest in PS2 game's However would consider playing PS1 game's But yet again being forced to rebuy games that you already own on psn is a bad joke.

I can't even play a Final Fantasy 8 on either PS2 and PS3 with backwards compatibilities.
Now, you're telling PS4 is having one for PS2.

I was gonna jailbreak the PS3 to play SNES games but, meh, just bought a PS4. And a tv.
Goddamit. I had to buy both. They always want you to buy extra or get a goddamn warranties.

Why offer me warranties? Are you guys giving me defective items as soon as I buy them. sheesh.

Yay, it's better than nothing and if you don't want it don't buy it. I don't expect them to give me a free copy just because I already own it. It wasn't free to bring these games to ps4 and $15 for some titles that sell for double or even triple is a steal and I happily paid $15 for a chance to play rogue galaxy again.

I don't see a thing wrong with it, but if youre streaming the games I don't like that. I tried out the PS Now and it sucked. but why resell PS games in the first place? gimmie something new

From my knowledge its hard to emulate PS2 games onto the PS4, the hardware just doesn't mix. But that doesn't stop you from using your PC

Thought there was already a thread like this. Anyway, I don't really care for PS2 emulation since I'll probably never go back to playing those games again.

And this is why the Xbox One is the best that and being able to hook up an external hard drive all plug and play style.

If it doesn't cause them too much effort, I think they'll be stupid not to. Saying that, I feel that making your system backwards compatible to 1 system and PS2 at that, seems to serve them more justice for bragging rights rather than appeal to a large group.

Personally, I'd rather have them make PS4's with a 2TB hd by default so I can just download everything and never have to worry about changing discs all the time just to play a different game.
