Those people should have their food stamps revoked. On top of getting things for free you're also demanding? go fuck yourself or better yet, go back to those islamic countries where all your needs will be met and let us live in peace.

can't they, like, choose which food to get with their food stamp..?
unless they are trying to force everyone to eat whatever they deem "appropriate" for their religion, in which case that's BS

They can't, the only countries they're happy in, are Non-Islamic countries.

I, er, wasn't aware you got food with Stamps, I was under the general impression you bought your own food with Stamps.

(But, I must be in another state. Live and learn. )

Halal, Kosher (mentioned repeatedly in the video, but not in the headline), etc.. not my thing personally, but in any case, they're asking, not demanding.

However, this isn't food stamps, it's for food shelves (similar to food banks, usually operated by charity groups with some support from others), which are different things.

If someone was asking for a peanut free zone in the pantry because of an allergy, I'd be totally on board. For religious food needs, I do understand, though it's not as critical as if it was an allergy in my book. I know some feel that it's just as critical, if not more so, since eating the wrong thing can be considered a mortal sin in many religions. If that's their belief, and I can work with it, not a problem.

I do a local meal for those in need - cheesy casserole today! - and we try to keep dietary restrictions (religious, allergy, or simple dislikes) in mind when preparing our menus as well. Sure, it's a bit more work to ensure that no walnuts touch the cooking sheets at any time, and that we transport nut and non-nut items separately, and so on, but it's still helping those in need, which is what's important.

I don't see what's wrong. Religion is a big part of people's lives. Saying they can't partake because they're impoverished seems harsh. People seem to harp on Sharia law, but I don't see how this "directly" affects people other than 150k. It's not like gays are being stoned in the open street here.

In my state you get a card and buy what you want with it. Minnesota has a similar program called SNAP.

This seems to be about providing halal (kosher) options at local food banks. It has little to do with welfare. They aren't demanding anything, and they don't want to change the existing options. They just want an added shelf for halal foods. They are citizens and have a right to lobby for their interests, just like the rest of us.

It's a very misleading article that is made more clear if you take the time to watch the video it references.

Well, if what MokotoKamui said is true then I don't see a problem.
