With Fallout 4 now out, it's more than likely that Bethesda's next big project will be The Elder Scrolls VI.
As a HUGE FAN of the series I like to look back at previous iterations and think what I would like to be different in the next one, be it a mechanic or the focus of the game altogether. Looking back is always more fun with others so lets share our opinions.

If your post drags on a while, put some of it behind a spoiler warning so we don't hog the whole page ~ Thanks

Be sure to give reasons for your answers.

No Elder Scrolls Skyrim sequel. I am tired of the skyrim setting with snowy mountains everywhere. I want a setting like Morrowind, and it be nice if they brought back the class-like system in Oblivion.

Summerset Islands or Elsweyr would be my preferred settings. The Summerset Islands would be my top choice, cause it'd be nice to have a sailing element and a province composed of islands would be a nice excuse to implement it. Plus the racial tensions and inner political turmoil of the Altmer homeland can basically be the direct sequel to Skyrim. We've seen the Nord viewpoint as it were perhaps a Altmer viewpoint would be nice. And we can have the game focus more on the war between the Empire and Aldmeri Domain and leave things like the Oblivion Crisis and the Dragons behind in the past . I rather believe the lore and political machinations of everyday life in the Elder scrolls if done right is enough to carry the game without some world ending crisis to worry about.

Also we need to get rid of the ability to be the Listener of the Dark brotherhood and the Harbinger of the Companions at the same time. It's laughably stupid to be the leader of two groups whose ideology differs so greatly from each other. Also we need better reputation tracking and real consequences to our actions big and small.

I like the perk system of Skyrim though, it doesn't allow these prefect builds right off the bat. Pick a combat style and stick with it. It's how combat in real life works,. Only a idiot thinks even a High Elf with it's 1000 year lifespan has enough time to master every aspect of combat the Elder Scrolls has to offer. In fact I say make it even more hardcore, lock in combat style choices after a certain while. You spec out as an assassin, you are now an assassin no becoming a freaking Paladin 13 levels down the road.
