I like Star Wars, but I have been thinking of checking out Star Trek when I'm done doing numerous real life stuff.

Noted. Now I'll refrain from responding to the same question you asked in the LotR vs Hobbit thread.

All about that original trek, and those new movies. Everything else, doǹt care. As for Star wars it is good, but when I was younger my mom took me to see the III in theaters and it was hot and packed, and I was stuck next to a man in a chair ment for the size of person he had eaten. Also he was sweaty and reeked of garlic and neckbeard sweat.

Worst.
Time.
Ever.

To be fair, those two are at least by the same author so the confusion is somewhat justified.

I watched Star Trek on and off my entire life, but I recently decided to sit down and see how much I could manage to sit through.

Ended up doing a few cherry picked episodes from the original series, all of the movies, about one season of Next Generation, a few episodes of Deep Space Nine, about half of Voyager, and all of Enterprise.

I just get really really tired of the whole creature of the week feel. I'm not a fan of episodic tv shows, and that's pretty much purely what Star Trek is, so I get pretty burnt out and bored.

At the end of the day, I'm just a Star Wars guy.

To be fair, those two are at least by the same author so the confusion is somewhat justified. Actually I was unsure of the difference myself until I actually watched all the movies. I wasn't that familiar with Tolkien before the stories hit the big screen. So that's the answer, just watch the movies, they are different because they are different movies (just taking place in the same world).

Star Wars all the way baby. Dat Sith versus Jedi conflict ( Only losers chose anything other then Sith), The breadth of the Eu stuff is awesome. And lets face the games kick Star Trek's sorry green Orion ass. And the Star Wars MMOs have always been better.
