Really? You can't live off 19K a year?

Would rather live in my parents' basement than live under communism.

This is called being told to get a 4-year degree without having experience or common sense to back it up.

If so it was because he had a union job. The same unions that you hate. And he probably worked much harder than you ever have. But based on his clothes the picture looks like it was from the late '70s which means that the caption is also wrong for many parts of the country - high inflation, factories closing, even if you were white if you didn't have a college degree things were getting pretty dicey back then.

Kids today don't know what it was actually like back then.

It's rough out there, too many low pay, dead end jobs without benefits while the prices of everything are going up. I'll probably be stuck living at home until my late 20s due to the high cost of living in my region, but I consider myself lucky compared to the college grads with 100k+ in debt who are forever going to be stuck in poverty without winning the lottery or getting a job on Wall Street.

Maybe in the deep south you can survive off that and certain rural areas in the Midwest, but in urban areas, the North East or the West Coast forget about it.

You could if you wanted to scrape by, but when I look at a livable income I take into account if something were to happen could I go a couple months without work. Idk maybe I don't know what I'm talking about

I can't wait until I switch jobs and can sell off my cellphone plan. I won't need it for work anymore and I can get a pretty penny for an unlimited data account. Hell, you can get a house phone with unlimited talk for $15 a month now, that's INSANE to me.

Unlimited data is stupid unless you were grandfathered into one of the old plans that didn't charge an arm and a leg for it. Use wifi for more things, there are better ways to spend money.

I used it to tether my computer off of when I was out in the field. It also is/was a grandfathered plan, Wasn't bad for $29 a month.

thats 1461/month before taxes. so call it 1300 after taxes. so if you living in a dump of a place on 400 month rent, then i suppose so. assuming you live in a city that has decent transportation. other wise ur stuck with a car pmt, ins. i suppose its possible if you have connections, or are willing to live in your car, but other wise, its not really doable.
