My father is a gamer, my mother enjoys those online chatrooms. So they were honestly on just as much if not more than I was growing up (since I had school activities).

Now that I am out of school and on more I still don't get that "Go do something with your life" bit because what I am doing with my life is attempting to write my first novel. Which since everyone knows my handwriting sucks... they know I will use my computer.

I'm not coming at you or trying to insult you but if you go through the comments in this thread you'll see that someone basically said that you and youre parents basically are at risk of autism because they play games.... she thinks i'm picking on her because no one else is saying anything to her about her comment..

Well isn't she a special snowflake.

Life is excellent, live it! You can also play video games and watch anime when you want to have fun or relax. No reason you can't indulge in both? And certainly no reason to not have any hobbies within the two.

His comment actually had nothing to do with me.

I understand that you can't expect a woman to make sense, but this comment absolutely butchered any semblance of a point you may have had with calling me a troll.

I've definitely been told such things many times.

People have a hard time understanding others unlike them. Growing up I, like many children, had been pushed into attempting to live a 'healthy' 'typical' lifestyle. Well, as typical as suburban upper middle class gets anyway. Overtime my parents had increasing concerns as they noticed I never wanted to or did hang out with other children as much as others. Geez, I can remember even all the way back to preschool where I had pretended to be sick because I didn't feel like playing with the other children. Teacher gave me a bucket of animal crackers until my Mother picked me up, lol. I got into video games at a very early age (3) and into anime around my elementary years. Fast forward all the other tiny sob stories to high school. I was still trying to have friends, but I still wouldn't hang out with them outside of school except on very rare occasion. Point is, even among people or friends. I felt fucking lonely as shit, it was quite a miserable experience for me. It was like trying to be social, but not quite being social enough and being stuck in a shit medium. Eventually I started getting really physically sick from what my mental state deteriorated into at that time. Many confusing doctor visits.

Anyway such scoldings became more frequent around that time; 'It was video games or my lack of social aspects that was creating my troubles'.

Well after my snapping point I grew confident and I spent more time alone. At some point I realized it was actually the opposite. It wasn't the video games or anime that caused my ills, it was thinking they were. I was trying to look for happiness where my personal happiness could never be found.

It's quite common not to realize how bad you were until you're healthy again.

There's a lot of people like this. There are many people that find more peace and happiness in their lives by filling it with moments of solitude and daily routine.

I got healthier; Mentally and very much so physically going through that transition. People find their happiness in different places. It may be different, but it doesn't necessarily make it wrong or unhealthy. It's a very common misconception. That's not to say one shouldn't exercise or eat healthy still, hah.

So to those people that find it weird/mental and who continue to scold you with how you can never find happiness in the isolated/trivial matters you have.

Fuck them. Not everyone has to like to be around people, yah fuckwits.

As long as other people ain't gettin' hurt by it, you do you.

1. I'm a female
2. I don't understand what you're saying but i don't like you're attitude or personality. your either a privileged bully or you're using the internet to try and vent you're horrible comments, before you say something think about how it may sound to other people. I don't want to sound like i'm a "tough person" but I'd lose my mind hearing you say that stuff to my face. I guarantee if i see your comment on anything it's going to be something ignorant like this one. making sense doesn't have anything to do with being rude.

Its all bullshit i hate when people say stuff like that. as long as its not affecting your life in a negative way like you don't want to work or do anything but play games then i don't see the problem so screw the naysayers and enjoy your game/anime time

I somewhat agree, the anime/video game community does foster and produce autistic and mentally deficient type of person.

Many gamers and anime fans think they're asexual and spend most of their time alone on forums and message boards.

I can't really say they don't have piles of issues.

Idk I think that since life isn't real anyway, and they're all electrical stimuli, what's the actual difference? If you're able to make money to live, but spend the rest of that time on anime and vg, nothing's wrong with that.

I guess it's only bad if you like make threads on forums about enslaving a gender or something, but no one does that anyway

Listen, I play video games because I'm really competitive; the same reason I play sports, if I was to stop these things I'd lose my drive to do anything at all.

As the post is implying "better" would be what allows you to support society with maximal effect. So if I shared this definition it would be "better" to stop playing video games and stop watching anime but from a hedonistic view point this is nonsensical.

I live life and indulge in anime/video games. I'll probably still be doing both even when I'm over 60.

I can't agree to this. I love Anime but I learn from it to work hard to achieve what you want and to be yourself. its really shameful to say that life is pointless. its better to have a purpose in life and have a bit of hope, don't be useless. That is one of disadvantages of being an otaku, I was like you before and lost myself in anime. Although it should be the reverse, you should learn something from anime, as anime isnt useless, but watching a lot make you very confused. Focus on what you like and do something good with it. -_-

If you wanna cry me a river, go right ahead. I criticize women because they typically act like you.

Being offended doesn't make anything you do more just or even intelligent. I know what I have to say offends people even if I'm not talking to them. I had an entire topic on generalizations so people could understand that they are only included in what I say if they want to be.

I'm not gonna police myself for thought crimes, if I were intentionally insulting and attacking other users, you would have a point and I'd apologize. But your entire point is that what I say has hurt your feelings and you're suddenly justified in name calling because I'm obviously the big tyrannical bully pushing everyone around.

People post things that offend me all the time, not here on Crunchyroll but other places.

Some people talk about shit about COD Players, some people hate FarmVille players, some people talk shit about Justin Bieber fans, some people talk shit about iPhone owners, people talk shit about all demographics, just because I'm talking about women, doesn't mean I'm anymore horrible than people who endlessly hate on Xbox Live or 4chan users.

You don't think those people are offended when they read the crap you or anyone posts?

If you or anyone wants to go out and make enemies who don't agree with you, that's your prerogative, if you feel the need to alienate yourself from someone because of their views, that's perfectly fine.

Just don't expect them or me to care, because you made it quite obvious we are not friends, we aren't friendly with each other and I never even spoke to you before you called me a troll. You called me a troll on the basis of my opinions and not on any interactions.

You wanna see a bully and terrible comments? I suggest you read your own filth.

Jesus the amount of people on the web who want to be crowded in there isolationist bubble astound me.

Dude real talk you need to socialize with people thats healthy. Im not a big fan of the Bible but to quote it "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." We learn and grow through interactions with others. People need to understand others. You cant just lock yourself away in a room of corporate made shit.

The problem with MMOs and forums is that most communities on the internet are isolated pockets that reject anything outside there interests and repeat the info and opinions comfortable to them (Kojima was right). You need to have outside views and outside people to communicate with to grow.

Look I hate sports as much as the next guy and I love myself long hours of playing video games but you cant live in that world forever. I fear a future were everyone fond memories are attached to a corporate product in some way.

Also real talk try and pick up a skill outside of anime or the internet like playing an instrument or something. Enrich yourself as a human being try and intake media outside of your preferences. Pick up a Pixies record or something.

Tackling this logically like you did is rather funny though. Thats not really how human interaction and humanity work.

I'm an avid gamer myself, but even I realize I'm only gaming because I have nothing better to do in life.

If I had great friends and a great lover, I'm pretty sure I would rather spend time with them than farming materials for some shiny pixelated weapons.

People are saying those things to you because they realise gaming is not a healthy lifestyle... If you want to believe it is then I'm not going to force you to believe otherwise.
