Creating world peace by exterminating all people that disagree with you would not justify anything.

That's interesting to know. Was that during the plague? (I'm not a history guy so go easy on me.)
Edit: but I do have the internet.

Apparently it happened during our pre history. Our numbers were reduced to 1000 or something, don't quote me on it.

Depends on the situation definitely, but not always.

Dan Brown's book, Inferno, is pretty similar to that hypothetical situation mentioned above...

Yes, but you'd have to look at ALL the consequences for both options.

It's not right to apply either answer to all situations.
The real question is "are you a sociopath?"

I think my answer is no. I feel as though there's always more than one way to approach a problem with the help from other perspectives. I say it like this because if this question ever came up, it's more tied in with the persons morality.

We're responsible for our own actions nothing more. If there were a never option I would have picked that. After all is a small population of psychopaths really preferable to extinction?

The word "always" was used in the question, if it was mostly then I would say yes, but I am obligated to say no for the simple reason that always does not exist.

It's a slippery slope, that one. Sometimes.
