Three people have cross-recommended--in anime--Usagi Drop and Koi Kaze. Keep in mind, the Usagi Drop anime is just about a 30-something man raising a 5-yr old girl. Koi Kaze is about a 30-something young man and his teenaged sister falling in love (romantically) with each other.

Maybe it's manga readers making the recommendation? In the manga of Usagi Drop, the story of the 5-year old girl continues when she's a teenager as she falls in love with the 30-something man who raised her. Rather strange turn for the story, but it happens.

Someone asked me for a slice of life show and I recommended School Days

It's literally a "slice" of life.

Meh. I love the anime.

Now to OP. Was told once that Dragon ball has great characters that make you think. Don't get me wrong, I love Dragon ball but most if no all the characters, are 2 dimensional.

It's okay to have a difference of opinion. I'm not of the pokemon-digimon-dragonball generation so didn't care for any of them. But I like anime that perhaps only I like. The one time I tried to watch Dragonball it sounded like everybody fighting was constipated.

Finally someone said it. Literally only watched GATE for the Rory top kek.

Edit: You also know what was terrible? Demon lord daimao, surprised it even has a number other than 0 let alone a good rating.

Charlotte was expecting it to be a bad version of a bad show (Angel Beats), but a buddy recommended me to watch it. Ended up being one of the worst shows of the year.

Would call it the worst, but Garo exists and that's the worst show to come out since Utsu Musume Sayuri in 2003 (btw Mars of Destruction > Tenkuu Danzai Skelter+Heavan (same studio as Mars of Destrution) > Utsu Musume Sayuri. Might be overexaggering for Garo, but it is worst show of the year for sure.

Your Lie in April would be among the worst of some of the anime recommended to me. I asked for another musical anime similar to Nodame Cantabile and was honestly excited to check it out. I didn't expect the anime to be so contrived and melodramatic. I haven't asked for a recommendation from anyone ever since.

As an rpg gamer I am repeatedly recommended Persona

As an anime fan I am repeatedly recommended Persona

I find them both boring, inane and pretentious. And that's pretty hard because I am into some whacky shit.

Persona, the anime or the games, for all I care it could be pip farting on a snare drum.

I once got recommended Evangelion as a "deep, psychological anime that makes you think"... man, were THEY off the mark.

wait are u sure? cuz someone told me that about evangelion cuz they said it was directed by a guy who got all crazy and started hating anime, and that bled into the anime itself, and it stopped being about robots and started being about a pilot going crazy

5 cm/sec

I mean I've done lots of things in life, like standing waiting for rides, waiting for people to finish shopping, waiting in waiting rooms, waiting in airports, playing a game of LoL that wasn't fun and our team was losing but no one wanted to surrender for 30 mins...

....but I never regretted any of it as "a waste of time I'd never get back."

...but when I watched 5 cm/sec all at once... that's how I felt, and wow... just wow.

Yeah, I didn't like Your Lie in April, either. I hear Sound! Euphonium is popular with music lovers. You might want to check that out.
