I don't Like him. I don't like him at all. I understand (Not necessarily agree, only understand) his core message, and would even agree with some of his core message, but the problems he wants to solve should not be solved his way.

The border should not have a giant wall put up. They are just going to continue to smuggle people through via their normal ways and we will still be in the state we are in. Instead, just place Coast Guard training facilities around that area, with a army base or two for fresh cadets. Should have the cadets monitor and patrol the area with Science/Tech. This also gives them a chance for live training too.

Blocking only Muslims is one of the stupidest things I have heard. I understand the core concept, but quite frankly, if we are concerned about terrorists coming in through the immigration system then we should just put a hold on immigration all together. What is to stop a ISIS member from claiming that they are not Muslim and getting accepted through the country? Blocking only Muslims is only going to incite that region, and is only going to make more of them hate us due to taking such a step as a direct insult towards them.

The guy has no filter on his mouth. He is likely to turn our trustworthy allies on us while he is in office, or at the very least offend them.

These would be my biggest problems with him.

But, I suppose the question was if he was a good politician. And the Answer is definitely a yes. He has so many people stirred up, and he is operating off of their fear and playing off of it like he has been doing it since he was born. Def not a moral politician, but very easily a good snake politician.

Like so many other people are saying, I think he's smart in using his controversial statements to get people to spread his word for him. Terrible idea for a politician, but he's definitely a clever businessman. Of course there's the chance all of this was unintended, which I doubt, but either way he's definitely making his infamy work for him.

Well, he is the frontrunner at the moment, so calling him dumb as a politician would seem a bit strange. He is a complete jerk though.

He doesn't want to be President of the United States, he wants to be CEO of the United States. And if he had it his way the U.S. would become a company under Trump. No one wants that, so dump the Trump.

Trump is a brilliant politician. I don't agree with much of what he says but I will not deny that he is able to play The Game very well.

He is demonizing illegal immigrants and Muslims. Doing this appeals to the conservative base of the Republicans and will serve him well in the primaries. In the general election it is unlikely that doing this will negatively effect him very much. Liberals won't vote for a Republican. Muslims are a small voting group (and likely to vote Democrat anyway). Illegal immigrants can't vote.

Nowadays elections in the US are won through getting your supporters energized and out to vote while convincing your opponent's supporters to stay home. Moderation and cross-party/ideology appeal, while nice to have in theory, won't win you the election in today's hyper-polarized politics because your energized 'base' is going further and further extremist on both sides. Trump knows this and he is playing to win.

Trump himself isn't The Problem. He is a symptom of a much larger issue.

I would laugh so hard if he becomes the president. I'd worry more about him than ISIS threats.

His quote, "Make America Great Again", is more like... "Make America All White".

Anyone who can stand in front of a crowd and lie without twitching can be a good politician.

If you don't need to be educated to be a politician in the U.S., just put slaves in office. They're cheaper.

Politicians should be dumb and just do what the majority of voters ask for.

Actually, that's the only way to win. It's not possible for either party to win without getting support from voters in the middle, namely the independent voters who make up a significant portion of the votes. It's bad enough that Trump has split the GOP, and thus alienating a large number of republicans who would've otherwise gone out to vote. He's also pushing away all the independents. If Trump becomes the republican nominee, it'll be bizzare if the republicans don't experience the lowest voter turnout they've seen in history. Especially since Trump is sending everybody else to vote for Hillary.

It'll be scary if he honestly believes what he's saying.
