Hey now that is uncalled for. China knew what freedom was once, it's why they threw off the shackles of the Emperors..well Empress in this case. And they were doing relativity well at it, going slowly and cautiously in that style only the Chinese have ever adopted.

But as with the rest of Asia the white folk had to go sticking there nose into it. So you want somebody to blame for the state of modern China look no further then France, Britain, and Russia. The idiotic white folk always have to mess things up and then wonder why it becomes a steaming pile of crap 50 years down the road. Honestly I think the Caucasians are incapable of learning from history, they keep repeating the same mistakes across the breadth of history.

To be honest I don't care why China is the way it is, doesn't change the fact that it is what it is and they are "the masters of their own fate". Blaming their current state on why people is an excuse. Not to mention if white people didn't learn from the mistakes of history civilization wouldn't be half as great as it is. I'd rather not make this about race anymore than you already have so I'm gonna drop the subject at that.

Also let's not forget to mention that China lost the Opium Wars which led to European occupation of the country. That's the price of war. Or at least it was until war became a political bureaucratic hell game.

Also this is China we are talking about. I don't think it's uncalled for to claim a communist country restricts the freedom of its residents. I'd say the homeless living in America have as great a life if not better than the lower class of Chinese citizens.

"They were doing relatively well at it", Don't mistake the means for the end. Hard work is great and all but if you end up with communism then ultimately you have failed as a country.

Ignoring the initial shock factor I cant help wonder how thin a line the communist party must be walking, and what gains they expect from such a system vs possible backlash.

Too oppressive and they will fall, same goes for being too passive.

Bets if they pull it off

I do agree with you excerpt it was mostly England fault. They saw resources and said here people of China we give you opium so you don't notice we are taking advantage of you.

Actually, that's kind of bullshit. The Chinese were already exporting opium way before Britain and the East India Company got into it. Britain wanted control of the Opium trading routes and the Chinese at the time weren't having it, which led to the opium wars and Britain successfully taking control of it.

Really, what are you some brain dead yank that thinks Communism is the reason China is authoritarian hell hole. Freaking hell mate my opinion of you just went subterranean. Communism is a perfectly valid choice of Government, you can't blame it's practitioners for failing to understand what Marx and Lenin were actually trying to do.

There is no prefect Governing type out there because the powers that will be will always have rotten apples, regardless of the creed the Governing body as a whole follows. And the fact you think America is doing so hot is laughably, your country is overextended military wise, in horrendous debt, and whose international reputation is in the gutter. Your Government's inept handling of international matters is the reason we are fighting in the desert right now.

Even with all that I still wouldn't blame Democracy for the problems the West is facing. Any Creed no matter how well intentioned is going to end up messed up by the people that follow it. It's human freaking nature and until we truly evolve as a species it's going to keep happening.

But hey keep waving that 'merica flag ya red neck moonshine sipping Republican. Using it as the logic in an argument is always such a sound way to explain your viewpoint.

First off, and simply for the record, I neither align myself with either Republicans or Democrats.

Now to get back on topic without stooping down to insulting someone because they have different ideals than you because they live in a free society where they don't have forced indoctrination through game scores. Ha, see what I did there?

Communism on paper is a wonderful form of economy, I won't deny that, but that's on paper. In practice communism never has and never will work. At least not any time within a foreseeable future.

Compared to life in China, yeah, I would say that America is doing pretty damn well. Any of the issues you laid out are issues of the government that have minimal if any direct impact upon the everyday life of American citizens.

International reputation- Why does that matter to me? So what if a lot of countries hate America, they aren't going to do anything about it specifically because of that "overextended military".

Horrendous debt- Yes, the American *government* owes a lot of money to other countries. A large portion of which is to China. But it's not like China will take any aggressive action to collect the money.

America is so intertwined in international politics and economy that there isn't a single important country in the world that would benefit from it disappearing and they know that. Only reason America has yet to be attacked by another country.

I don't care why you have this distaste for America because it doesn't matter. America is a powerhouse in the world and it's not going anywhere regardless of what you think. And the citizens of America live a rather great life in comparison to many other countries because of that. Sure we have our issues. But we live in one of the most peaceful times in Human history and it's hard to deny that America is one of the largest reasons for that.

Lastly The United States of America is not a democratic nation, it is a Democratic Republic. A purely Democratic government is a horrendous idea. It doesn't matter how great Marx or Lenin's ideas were if they don't work. Which history has shown it doesn't.

Now since you've gone so far as to throw insults around for no reason I have no intention of responding to you further, enjoy your bacon and maple syrup.

The proper term for the US government is a Representative Democracy.

Also it took thousands of years for Democracy to finally work right(Caeser anyone) so id say Marxism is still worth a shot.

I would be more interested in reading what experts and people knowledgeable about the program think than the shock-value speculations of a Youtube kid who runs a channel dedicated to video game.
Pretty much all of the Extra Credits team consists of Game designers, animators and no kids. Just because he pitches his voice doesn't make Dan a kid. And if you actually watched the video you would realize that Extra Credits wants to be wrong about the program because it is so scary to them. They want someone to step forward with more information on the project to prove it isn't what they think it is.

I'm looking at credit score a bit differently today, but this shocking enough to feel surreal. If this really happens it will certainly pave a few miles in the road leading to the end of the free thinker.
