http://codenamesailorearth.weebly.com/from-the-desk-of-codename-sailor-earth/when-did-wrestling-anime-and-video-game-fans-become-whiny Have you noticed that over the last few years, anime, wrestling and video games are just never happy?

It seems everything I like is overrun with "fans" who never actually pay for what they're streaming and torrenting, and yet they demand these companies bow down to them, cater to their demands and worship them.

People must think it's cool to complain or something?

If you truly like whatever it is you like, and believe the quality of that thing is good, then people's opinion shouldn't shake the foundation of your belief in any way. The fact that people's opinions of your favorite shows etc are affecting you indicate your belief in your favorite show was never strong to begin with.

There are shows that I really like for example The pet girl of sakurasou has some really interesting characters that get heavily criticized, yet the opinions don't affect me, because I believe that this is a great show with good dialogues. Then there are shows that I could never understand how people could like them for example Love Live!, Sword Art Online, The Monogatari series, the dialogues are boring as hell, I don't want to sit through hours and hours of cheesy/self-pitying/obnoxiously introspective dialogues.

Back to the question, I don't know if this is a rhetorical question or an actual question, I whine about it when people ask about it. I rarely make an opinion without someone asking about something first. You come to this forum to read opinions, I don't understand why people browse these forums/blogs or whatever if they only want people to mirror their opinions.

If you want that sort of thing, create your own fanclub and only accept puppets and/or robotic personalities who will mirror everything you say.

There's nothing wrong with complaining because no company is immune to criticism. In the case of someone that's not a customer, all that's needed for a complaint to be valid is evidence.

I have noticed a spike in complaints in the last few years but I have also noticed a spike in being vocal about showing interest in general, more people are openly into anime and video games today than 10 years ago, internet access is at an all time high and the number of complaints should represent that.
And to call someone whiney for making a complaint is hypocritical.

Hate to break it to you, but anime, video game and pretty much everyone who is a fan of some sort of franchise, has always been whiny. Remember when the 'new' Star Wars Episode 1 film came out and people whined about Jar Jar Binks? I do. Remember when Star Trek fans whined about Captain Janeway? I do.

Anime fans are no exception. People complained about K-On and shows like it because it was a show about cute girls doing cute things and would therefore undermine our society. And yet, years later, we're still here.

The only thing that's changed is that you're just aware of it now. People have been complaining on rando Internet message boards for at at least a decade. It's only that new technology has made that complaining instantaneous, with people taking to Twitter and whatnot the second they see something they don't like.

Doesn't it feel good to know that experiences aren't new anymore, just new to you? LOL

^ I'd pay to watch that...especially the parents who don't want to spank their children because they want to be their child's best friend at age 2.

Yah, it's just that the complaining has evolved into inane bitching.
Here. For reference, take a look at this youtube video complaint in which the main game breaking issue with fallout 4 is the fact that he has to wait an absurd 4 whole seconds longer for his game to load if he has his game fullscreen.

Fullscreen takes ages longer. So if you're running fullscreen try window noborder. After a bit more investigation it may be related to whatever shaders you have enabled. Beyond me why windowed mode can load faster with them on.

Outside locations the difference increases. The save I used earlier it maxed around 4-5 seconds more for locked windowed. Better but not perfect.

People nowadays bitch about a holiday-themed coffee cup.

Every group has the potential to be whiny.
