Yeah that was by far the most stupidest thing I have ever heard someone complain about.

Hate to break it to you, but anime, video game and pretty much everyone who is a fan of some sort of franchise, has always been whiny. Remember when the 'new' Star Wars Episode 1 film came out and people whined about Jar Jar Binks? I do. Remember when Star Trek fans whined about Captain Janeway? I do.

Anime fans are no exception. People complained about K-On and shows like it because it was a show about cute girls doing cute things and would therefore undermine our society. And yet, years later, we're still here.

The only thing that's changed is that you're just aware of it now. People have been complaining on rando Internet message boards for at at least a decade. It's only that new technology has made that complaining instantaneous, with people taking to Twitter and whatnot the second they see something they don't like.

Doesn't it feel good to know that experiences aren't new anymore, just new to you? LOL

OMG YES!! I can't believe I forgot about how up in arms everyone was over Voyager.

It's whiny because the majority of people in this world are whiny.

Edit: Whiny IRL.

Well, I'm not one of those people. I can appreciate what's given to me.

Like Corrin in Smash and the new Star Wars.

Theres a huge sense of toxicity among fandoms know. Alot of aspects lead into this but I think it has to do with people becoming way to consumed by the media they like. If you become so attached to something that you are personally offended when someone criticizes it you have a problem. To quote Ian Mackaye "Your not what you own"

They have nothing on sports fans. You should have seen ESPN's college football or NBA forums when they were active .

I pay for my anime on DVD and I pay for hard copies of manga too. So I think I should be allowed to whine. Especially since "complete collection" does NOT mean complete collection in the UK. Any bonus eps or OVA's are always missing

It's like that everywhere not just UK. Why you buying DvDs for anyway? You should be getting the Blu Rays, you can watch better quality stuff online over DvD. But Blu Ray is still the best.

I doubt it's like that in Japan where they actually make it. But then they own the stuff so of course they're going to have it better.

And blu-ray is just a complete rip off in my opinion. At least £10 more expensive than the normal dvd and I can't tell any difference in the quality. It's just another clever ploy for us to spend more money. Especially since they bring out the standard dvd first and then the blu-ray, so some people end up buying both. I don't fall for that.

There are so much good things happening around the world and it's hard to keep up. I'm just like, "if I miss it, I miss it. My life won't change regardless if a movie flop or an anime gets its own CON[vention] of itself." I don't just jump a bandwagon of "what's hot now."

I can watch/experience the hype whenever I want. [Yea. I'm not going to camp on a line for hours and hours just to watch the premier of the new Star Wars movie. Bitch, they just put an old filter on that thing to make it look like have the feeling of Star Wars. jk joke joke]

Heck, I only heard about Justin Beiber in 2012 and I live in the US since before that year.

Yeah in Japan it's usually all together, if not you can just buy it separately anyway. As for Blu Ray, it's not some clever ploy lol. If you have a big TV, Blu Ray will look a lot better as the resolution is higher. Also for a lot of anime titles now they sometimes remaster or redraw entire scenes to look better / more atmospheric for Blu Ray. Other times there are extras too.
