To play devil's advocate, isn't it more common for people that have problems to voice them. Looking away from it being warranted.

You might disagree with me (for whatever reason) but it's not an opinion. Blu Ray is better. And it only costs an extra £5-£10 over DvD for most titles anyway for both movies and anime for better image, sound and sometimes bonus features.

Blu-ray is better is fact. That this higher quality is worth the money IS an opinion.

It's because people have all this built-up angst, but can't vent about their problems IRL 'cause then they're called whiny to their face, so they take out all this aggression anonymously over the internet at random things.

I doubt it's like that in Japan where they actually make it. But then they own the stuff so of course they're going to have it better.

And blu-ray is just a complete rip off in my opinion. At least £10 more expensive than the normal dvd and I can't tell any difference in the quality. It's just another clever ploy for us to spend more money. Especially since they bring out the standard dvd first and then the blu-ray, so some people end up buying both. I don't fall for that.

Yeah in Japan it's usually all together, if not you can just buy it separately anyway. As for Blu Ray, it's not some clever ploy lol. If you have a big TV, Blu Ray will look a lot better as the resolution is higher. Also for a lot of anime titles now they sometimes remaster or redraw entire scenes to look better / more atmospheric for Blu Ray. Other times there are extras too.

Also, Japan is in the same blu-ray region as the US, so Japanese blu-rays will play on US players. That wasn't the case for DVDs.
