you mean there's more?

thought I was the only one here that didn't care about that stuff.

Either way, I ain't scared to touch stuff, wouldn't be able to type if that was the case but it's easy for a cat like me to stop caring about the sexy time because y'know, I'm apparently the kinda guy girls don't want and I'm all like "screw getting rejected all the time, back to video games and books".

Or they simply pretend they have no desires because they feel the need to suppress what they can't satisfy. But it sure would be healthier to just acknowledge the real issue and work to resolve it.

I have never met any anime fans that are asexual. Mostly its the very opposite lol.

But being asexual is not being afraid to ''touch stuff'' lol its just that ''touching stuff'' gives them nothing so its not fun to them :P

I think you're misunderstanding something; there's a huge difference between being asexual and having low libido.

Asexual is something that is from birth, the person simply does not desire sex or is repulsed by sex permanently. People who have low libido can be caused by depression (which is caused by watching anime all day, everyday, lack of sunlight), stress or unhealthy lifestyles. Their libido can return when they become healthy again, it is not a permanent state.

You can't make an asexual person become interested in sex, if they do, then they were never asexual to begin with. Just like you can't turn a gay person straight and vice versa.

Where did you ever get that idea?

Asexuality is having no interest in sex, you can have a relationship without sex.

Read it again. I'm saying what it isn't, not what it is. You sound like you got it wrong too though. Celibacy is not asexuality.

Sorry, I missed one of the nots.

Celibacy is actually having an interest in sex, but choosing not to do it.

Asexuality is having no interest in sex whatsoever.

However, either one can be in a relationship.

As far as I'm aware, DSM still recognizes it as a disorder of sorts. I don't know enough about it, but at the very least I know people love to identify with tags. There's bound to be a lot more of them than there honestly is.

I don't get the whole sexual orientation wheel. Get's stressful to try and I don't like placing anyone in a group, category, tag, label, or class. I mean, sure. What you want to identify as is cool beans with me. On my end, you're either sexually attracted and active or a virgin of your own reason and devices.

There are a lot of "asexual" people in this community, and I have to wonder why. I think it may be one of two reasons.

1. There is a fear of intimacy. Which makes total sense if you see how women are treated in hentai, lol.

2. There is a unrealistic expectation on relationships in real life which has possibly been ruined by fantasy anime relationships.

Long story short, don't be afraid to touch stuff. It's fun.

I sincerely doubt anime ruined anything. I think reality has already done that for many people in my generation... there aren't many templates for a good relationship anymore. Many people are raised by the media (not only TV but now social media for the younger generation) with images of what is expected of a relationship. Therefore I think there's a particular herd that flocks to certain type of anime and VN's to fill a void and insert themselves in characters involved in unrealistic and poorly written relationships.

I wouldn't be surprised if porn has fucked up people's expectation of sex too.

EDIT: But I'm not sure whether what I say really has anything to do with the causation of asexuality.
