WAIT what?
so im assuming people have never heard of
NANA , Durarara , Fairy Tail , Black Butler , etc

lololo

Watched a bit of all of those. Not to my taste. I like things like:

BTOOOM!
Parasyte
Darker than Black
Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom
GATE was decent.
I do have a few guilty pleasure fun feeling anime.... but generally, I like things a bit more serious.

What, no Psycho Pass after listing those...

Looked at Beautiful Bones.... reminds me a bit of Bones, the TV show, and I'm not big into investigation shows in general.

Watched a bit of Ghost in the Shell... it was pretty good, but too cyberpunk for me.

Hellsing Ultimate looks dark, but not sure how serious it is.

I like dark, I like serious.... but I also like fun stories that have believable and serious-ish emotions (My Little Monster, to name one).

It is really hard to describe what I like. I guess it would be easy to say that I don't like anything that is too cartoony. And I don't mean how it is drawn. I know anime fans hate anime being called cartoons, but just because it is anime, it doesn't mean it ISN'T a cartoon. To me, some things aim at younger audiences. Sometimes MUCH younger. Fairy Tail, for example, is aimed at a younger audience. I only watched so much of Fairy Tail because I was trying to strike a compromise with my 9-year-old stepson with something we could both enjoy.

Sure, I'm probably offending a few people, but hey, just because it is anime, it doesn't mean it isn't just a cartoon.... because sometimes it is. That's how I feel about Fairy Tail, DragonBall(most of it), and many others. Not that I avoid those entirely, because I do have a few guilty pleasures..... but I'm almost 30, so if something is aimed for a child - young teenage audience, I'm probably not going to enjoy it.

haha dont worry you aren't offending me i also hate fairy tale , dragon ball z , tokyo ghoul etc

Watched both. Found them both enjoyable... though they had slightly different moods and maturity.

I dislike investigation shows in general. No matter how much you spice it up. I do not watch any of the CNCISINSSISNS shows.... you know the ones I'm talking about. Bones, the show....blah. Forever, while good, has trouble keeping me interested, because it is,at its core, an investigation show. Continuum... blah. Tried iZombie.... was interesting until it became entirely about solving crimes. The list goes on. Of course, those are all TV shows... but, I find it stays true with anime.

Psycho Pass was good for a while. I watched it until they got to the main computer "brain" thing, but it didn't reveal what it was. The premise was neat... so on and so forth. In the end, like the above response, I'm not into investigation shows, and tons of it is centered around that.... there was a lot that wasn't, but it ended up not being worth tolerating the investigation parts to see it.

Rokka, I believe it was, was along the same lines.... I'm not a big fan of mysteries. I put up with it for the first season, because I had high hopes for what would come after. Then, after that big clusterfuck/ game of Clue was over... they reset the damned board. I was pissed. I will not be watching the second season. (Much like the TV show Lost. Everyone was addicted because of the constant mystery and suspense.... I was just annoyed half way through season 2.)

I just don't like mysteries. I do like a touch of mystery in my stories, but not for the entire story to be based around those mysteries. I either know the answer to the mystery way before the reveal... or none of it really makes enough sense to keep me interested. Rokka and Lost fall into the latter.

Can't say that I agree CR's going dry. I always manage to watch several series per season, and likewise always manage to find one or two that surprise me with how good they are. This season's surprise for me was The Asterisk War, which early in its run I described as the "unwashed, inbred cousin of The Hunger Games." It eventually found its own story and has become a show I really look forward to seeing--too bad about waiting until April for it to continue. . .

I think I mainly use CR to watch old stuff that I've never seen or haven't watched for a while. Not much new stuff I'd like to watch lately.
