What anime series/film did you pick and how did they react?

I've yet to do this, but I'm curious about other peoples stories.

I usually tell non-fans to watch Death Note

You got to recommend short series to people and ask them what kind of genres they're into.
Death Note has a complex plot but simple enough for people to understand
I think Death Note is suited for everyone

I tend to go with good one shot story heavy pieces, like one of the Ghibli movies

Whoever your target is, there is Ghibli movie that will match them.

Yep. Definitely Death Note. I've had loads of non fans watch it.

Attack on Titan as well though, now.

I don't really introduce anime to someone who isn't into anime.

I don't.

No one deserves to be trapped in this hellish hobby.

Death Note is a pretty solid gateway anime.

But one thing to note, don't be too forceful. The more you push someone to like something, the less interested they'll be.

Give them Black Lagoon or some other show with Western sensibilities if they are from the West.
