So the people of S.Korea have for the last decades been having more and more suicides problems (like most of asia). So they've started a program in S.Korea where they put people in a coffines for 10 minutes, where their suppose to learn how to appreciate life more. In addition to this multiple business have also started a "ritual" where they start the day off whit forced laughter.

So what does the Crunchyroll community think about this, do you think it'll work or not work? xD

Forced laughter just makes things awkward. Why?

I love this.

10 minutes in a coffin? Psh, I'd be grinning and crossing my arms vampire-style

As long as the coffin is padded and comfy, I might want to stay longer for meditative purposes.

Depending on the person, it may or may not work. The forced laugh thing... that... that's weird.

See, this kind of stuff is what I call, "Weird".
Most people on Crunchyroll would never think up of such a thing.

I think it's a ridiculous idea, if you want someone to appreciate life, maybe take them to a great place with beautiful scenery? I don't know, climb up a mountain?

I have studied a but of psychology. And I can say that weird stuff can "cure" things like adhd attacks for some people (not all) by random stuff like pinching your skin before you get a attack. However I don't think the same thinking process can be applied to these type of cases since adhd is something you get on birth, while depression and similar things are stuff that gets onto you by your environment and where you live.

So with my very limited knowledge in this subject part of psychology, I'd say this laughing "ritual" and coffin stuff may help for the moment at best and only for some people. And for those it helped, it won't be a long term solution since they'll most likely just get it back soon after. A long term solution would be to fix their way of life in that country, considering most people in asia work from like 7 in the morning to like 10 in the night

Korea, China and other asian countries (including Japan to some degree) have a extreme work culture where your expected to work like 11 or 12 hours/day and then have a bunch of social gatherings. And if you don't make it, then they put a lot of presure on you. And in addition to this, you're not expected to be open about how you feel in a lot of these countries, so it's not like you have many people to talk to if you feel bad about something like you do in most other developed countries.

This in turn have put a lot of people in bad mental health over in those countries
