Looks like this might be full CG (like Kingdom season 1) instead of partial CG (like Arslan Senki, Kingdom season 2) like I was hoping for...

Well it did seem to have some regular animation mixed into it. Might just be using CG for the fighting. One can hope. We'll have to see i suppose.

Horrible fucking CG! Also, what the hell is up with that soundtrack? I hope to god it only applies to the PV. The sound effects were pretty awful, too. Damn.

I did when the movies came out and it was like watching old school Marionation. The old Thunderbirds show.

The hands were aweful and in half the scenes there was no weight in the body movements. Sometimes it did look cool but in most of the scenes it was just ..off

Lol, people are really going to complain about the CG? It's not like we are getting a MFing Berserk series after like 15 + years

And the movies did CGI + Animation and I enjoyed them. This will be no different. Now I just need a release date/more information on it. Hopefully this a series rather than movies.

Don't mind me I'm just needlessly picky. I used to work in the animation industry so I'm kind of trained to look a bit too closely at stuff. Sometimes I'll see stuff that just bugs me when anyone else would miss it.

Comes from having the director telling you to redo stuff.

I can never get into CGI anime. It just looks horrible to me no matter how good the story is. I can tolerate it but I can never completely get into it. I can't understand why they even do it. Do people actually buy this type of CGI anime? Is there a market for this? Do people in japan enjoy this type of animation? (I don't mean CGI like Frozen but bad CGI like the dragon from Fate zero or the animation from kingdom )

I hate CGI anime with a passion. People should give it a chance but as for me it's like someone trying to get me into american hip hop music it's torture

I think part of it is money.

Most of the work for CG is in the design phase when you put the models together. Once that is done you don't need to employ as many people to animate it all as you would doing 2d.

In the case of Berserk they are probably using the models from the movies with some alternations and tweaking so most of the work has already been done. The rigging will already be done too.

What is left is Posing, letting the computer do the inbetweening, adjusting that, then setting cameras and lighting. Hit render and go home for the day. Review in the morning
