But why?

Luxury cars, designer clothes, not to mention they tend to reside in the "cool" cities like NYC, LA, Chicago, etc. I feel like they get over to these cities easier than a lot of Americans. Anyone notice this? And why? It is not right.

I can't say for sure, but my guess is that since US imigration requirements are quite strict, most people obtaining a green card are either highly educated giving them a better chance to score big on the job market or likely already have a well paying job there or are in a financial position where they can support themselves without having to look for a job directly.

Apart from that, a lot of the stuff over there is a LOT cheaper than it is here in Europe.

In small cities and towns it can be very cheap but the cities are crazy expensive and part of that is wealthy foreigners bidding up all the property so working class citizens are pushed out. I think only citizens should be allowed to buy property.

Is it too much to ask that a nation of immigrants be somewhat less xenophobic? It's not their fault the vast majority of Americans suck hind teat at managing their cash. I mean anyone ever heard of term deposits, investments, learning not to waste half of your pay check on beer? Most Wealthy people become and stay wealthy because they know how to handle money, it isn't rocket science.

I mean you're right (Especially about people wasting their money on a shit bitter beverage) but if you're born in the country you're not an immigrant.

Also because USA is a land of opportunity (Capitalism) It should be said that there will always be some immigrant who makes it big.

In my opinion unless ya got dark skin and speak Apache as a native language so to speak your an immigrant or the descendant of one. I ain't got nothing against all the non First Nations who have come here and made it big. So why should anyone care that deeply about another immigrant making it big.

You only have yourself to blame for this one. Americans have every opportunity to be successful, which many are. If foreigners out compete you and can afford to live in "big cities" while you can't, that is a you problem not theirs.

It's probably because where I live a person who cleans toilets for a living has a monthly wage of $2300, whereas in America they might be allowed to look for food in dumpsters-- if they're nice, and beg, and submit to a couple of blowjobs. Viva la economical equality, dude.

We learned it from our xenophobic European ancestors.

Some of it could actually have to do with the extremely low family expenses immigrant families are accustomed to. If you've ever been to an immigrant family's home you'd be surprised at how simple and well, plain they can be. If you don't spend money on things average American families have, there's lots of room for surplus cash in your income. Even welfare on an 'under the poverty' level budget has room for splurging.

All that is not taking into consideration what job(s) the family members(s) all have.

You get what you earn. You don't automatically have priority rights to be in those cities simply because you're American...

why not do something productive with your time instead of complaining about how well others are doing? You don't know their lives and struggles so it's a bit unfair to cry about it.

My answer would be that most Americans are lazy and they want the best of the best without becoming the best. Foreigners tend to work harder and study more so they live better (or look like it).

American here, can confirm. If visitors to the US appear to be wealthy, they probably are in their home countries too.

Example: the university where I did grad work at has a lot of overseas students who pay their own way because the school doesn't offer them scholarships. Yearly cost of attendance around 57,000 USD. Parking lot still full of BMWs and Mercedes.
