I was one of those tiny innocent little boys. Please whip me. Give me coal for Christmas. I've been a really naughty boy, Santa.

Um no. It basically argued "blacks have the highest standard of living in the world in america". Thats true but its still below white people. I still think reparations are deserved. It was a rather weak article in my view.

It's a touchy subject.

But......Africans were enslaving and selling themselves to other tribes long before Columbus.

How is slavery affecting black people of today?

More importantly, how are white people of today responsible for said slavery?

I'm just curious how you can think that people without guilt should pay people without experience, for said experience. *shrug*

What's with the completely pointless spin on race in this article?

It's like they are playing a game to refer to race as much as possible in one article.

You do fucking realize there not gonna go up and take your money personally. Government should pay them and I would be willing to pay more taxes.

It is actually debunking that slavery was a racial issue.. It has been made to be by "victims." I suppose you can't avoid discussing race when your goal is to debunk that it is a racial issue.

But, anything to invalidate the argument, I guess.... *shrug*

Also, you never answered the question.

I'm totally FOR paying ANY and ALL former slaves...AND their first generation of children, TOO! Let's totally do that. Please.

Content itself was pretty informative, but how it was put together in the article was dumb.

Introductory paragraphs felt completely unnecessary and could have been done much, much better.

I think there is no need for reparations.
My ancient and noble Huastec ancestors were enslaved by the Aztecs and later by the Spanish. I don't think I need any sort of compensation for stuff that happened 500 years ago.
