Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt ONA EP 2

The collection of muic in this EP is astounding

Countrty / 60's pop / do - wop /Jazz / more Jazz / Oprea / more 60's standard

Darryl likes the early 60's standard songs being played on an old casseste / deck

Io likes Jazz though in the beginning there is A Country Song his dad liked

Countrty / 60's pop / do - wop /Jazz / more Jazz / Oprea / more 60's standard

I really like this show a lot just a thought but has a lot of western flavor and style the way they include music in flash backs is amazing only negative is more episodes faster would be nice

Well that was an episode with most of the focus on Darryl with the principality. Though we got some glimpses into the past of our opposing side friend as well.

But this was all about Darryl, his past. His losses. And the more sacrifices he would have to make. In the end foist upon him by a panicking head scientist and admiral in an attempt to save the fleet from total annihilation.

With the poor doctor doing all the work cracking under the pressure as she is forced to do the terrible deed. But with that he can now use the battle armor and take on the Gundam.

Good use of Music too. Curious as to what that piece of classical music was.

Also some splendid action. I do wish this had more regular episodes. And more of them.

I'm really starting to appreciate Darryl's role in this series now. Not just as a character that's part of the story but also his background.

Can't even imagine what's going through that doctor's mind when she was operating in space.
The music still remains godly in this show. Is there a release date for it yet? I need some of that good stuff.

Another solid episode.

Ok so here's my problem with this series: Why the fuck are the main characters so goddamn powerful? This takes place in 0079 during the One Year War, a time when Ace pilots Amuro Ray and Char Aznable's names rang across space be it in fear or admiration. Those two pilots were the best of the best and thus got to pilot the most powerful mobile suits on their respective sides. So why the hell did we never hear about the Full Armor Gundam seeing as it's so clearly superior? From ridiculously complex manoeuvres to ridiculously over-powered weapons it doesn't take a gundam devotee to figure out that the Full-Armor is leagues ahead of the original RX-78-2, and yet it was apparently completely eclipsed by the RX-78-2. In fact why the hell was the Full-Armor Gundam pushed to the sidelines? The Federation assigned it to take back side 4, but why the hell not bring it to the front lines? It could probably take out an entire fleet on it's own considering how comparatively inferior Zeon's weapons were in Mobile Suit Gundam. I'm so damn confused. Can someone please explain this to me?

Well from what I've seen this kinda takes place in an alternate version of the OYW, there's factions and mobile suits that did not exist at all. The manga is currently post-OYW and it's definitely gotten kinda weird, also the Gundam (it's also not the only new Gundam, Io DOES get an upgrade) introduced in this isn't the only powerful suit in this at all. The Psycho Zaku (yes that's what they called it)

Oh so it's an alt and not canon? Well I certainly wish they had marketed it as such but whatever. I suppose that fills up those plotholes but it's still reeeaaally weird for me to see all this UC style action in the one year war setting. I suppose I'll get used to it though.

Hm, idk how to feel about the third episode. It's still very tragic and the theme of revenge is pretty evident.

I think the final episode will climax the epic battle with the buildup from this one so...looking forward to it.

This was screened today at Anime Expo in movie format with added epilogue. Looked awesome on a big screen and the OST needs to be heard loud! The music director said that she chose to have original jazz written rather than using Coltrane like the manga because they wanted something angrier for the battle scenes.
