I speak through prayers. I only pray because I'm with my family and they expect me to.

I no longer am Christian but they don't need to know. I consider myself agnostic. After college began, I just couldn't deal with the holes in the book anymore. I'd been falling away a while before then, but getting away from home and taking time to think about things really drove those last nails in the coffin deep.

There was a time I was or thought I was believer. But it came in conflict with my morals as I grew older. I cannot follow a god who believes it's okay to commit genocide, condone slavery or stoning a child.

I like all the good it try's to stand for. It brings people together, but unfortunately all the good it brings also brings terrible things out of people.

So Iv decided the only true way for mankind to achieve peace is to one day finally accept one another. Without the guidance of a god or laws. Hence how came to be an atheist.

Way to much evidence for me not to believe in God.

Yes I speak to Him.

Silly question but do you plan to tell your family in the future?

I mainly lean toward Progressive Christianity. I reject the absolutist, blind faith of fundamentalism whilst retaining a belief in Christianity and God. I believe in the Bible, but I don't believe it's a 100% infallible book that never makes mistakes. I believe that one should actively ask questions of their faith and that a believer strengthens their connection to God through doing so.

So yes, I do believe in God. Even if I wasn't a Christian, I'd most likely be a Deist and thus would still possess a belief in a higher power.

I listen to my "heart", I need not follow another mans individual vision but realize my own.

I think I have to eventually. Even if I don't, they'll probably find out someday. I just don't think now is the right time to say anything.

My family is very traditional and they'll probably react in a bad way, so I'll wait until I'm permanently living away from them.
