Quote from the article: "According to RT, there has never been such a case in Russia. The man's legal representation claim they want to "see how far we can go regarding this case." A Russian localization company is also named in the lawsuit."

Not that it wasn't obvious to anyone before they clicked on the link but those guys aren't even trying to be subtle about this case being nothing more than a farce to extort money from a game company.

Sadly the damages the dude is seeking is so low that he'll probably get it considering it would most likely be cheaper to pay the man this money than deal with court/legal fees.

Crazy russian is crazy.
Either this guy really believes his own bullshit or he's looking for a quick cash grab.

A woman sued McDonalds over coffee she spilled on herself and won. It's worth a try.

Although there are a lot of stupid cases out there, I think that one was actually pretty reasonable. The coffee was kept hot enough to give her 3rd degree burns that required fucking skin grafts. Speaking entirely seriously here, I've spilled coffee on myself before, and although I may have gotten minor burns, I don't expect a spilled cup of coffee to cost me thousands in medical care. Getting a cup of coffee should not be a dangerous proposition, which is not to mention the fact that she was clearly not just trying to milk money from McDonalds for her own screw up. Originally, she asked McDonalds to pay for the cost of her care, which they refused, so she sued. You know what her settlement was? One day's worth of Mcdonald's coffee sales.

I have no problem with this. And whether you agree with the settlement or not, you'd have to agree that it's at least understandable. "Woman makes millions spilling coffee on herself" sounds pretty stupid, but it's pretty much the old newspaper equivalent of clickbait.

My point was people have won money for things that are indirectly the fault of the producer of the product. You can't deny that Bethesda made a game that was fun for at least some people. Had Bethesda never made that game perhaps this man would not have gotten addicted and messed up his life. Yes, I realize that is a ridiculous shift of responsibility, but suing under such grounds has had at least one successful case, which means that it may have another.

In other words, if someone was successful in turning shit into gold, why shouldn't you try?

I wish I could get addicted to it like he apparently did. I couldn't get away from Witcher 3 and MGSV though.

The game is good but not addictive by any means.

The guy attempting to sue is a fool.

It's Russians, they are known to be very blunt. Subtlety isn't in their language.
