I agree that 2015 was a mixture of the good and bad. I think the good generally outweighed the bad. But the bad was horrible. What surprised me was the surprise hits of the year. For me that was: School Live, Actually I am, Monster Musume, Gate, Shomin Sample, Castle Town Dandylion, Chivalry of a Failed Knight, Anti-Magic Academy the 35th Test Platoon, The Asterisk War, Plastic Memories, Non Non Biyori Repeat among others. And the bad were very, very bad. I guess the thing that amazed me the most was how dark the Summer season was and how moving a lot of the shows I liked were.

Anime of the Year: Monster Musume. Hands down.

Most of the year's new releases I was excited to watch turned out to be underwhelming or even downright awful imo: Maria the Virgin Witch, Plastic Memories, Fate Stay Night UBW, Gangsta, Perfect Insider, Beautiful Bones.

For me the year's anime was a dud except for MonMusu and Actually I am.

I personally thought 2015 was full of shows ranging from terrible to slightly above average, but overall a rather lackluster year for anime. In a direct comparison to last year, I found that 2014 produced much higher quality shows and in significantly higher quantity.

Tons of great shows I enjoyed this year like Rakudai, Noragami Aragato, Overlord, GATE, Prison School, Oregairu Zoku, Ore Monogatari, Shokugeki no Soma, and many more. There were also a few bad ones like Comet Lucifer and Chaos Dragon, but that's far from spoiling this amazing year of varied anime selections it had to offer me.

2015 was an okay year I guess. I can't really think of any show where I dropped it right off the bat or where it was complete utter shite like 2014 was (Psycho Pass 2 and Sailor Moon, I'm talking to you)

Hands down, I loved Death Parade, Yona, Kekkai Sensen, Ossomatsu-san and probably the biggest anime hit since AoT/SAO two years back, One Punch Man. Also loved Perfect Insider, Beautiful Bones, Shirayuki and Durarara....

-Sequels: Haikyuu contines to be more enjoyable every week. Return of Kings had some good spots and I can't wait to see how it ends.....but I also found it completely MEH...compared to season one.

There was a lot of great surprises this year, but a lot of big disappointments as well. A lot of my favorite shows came out of nowhere basically I wouldn't even excepted them to be some of my favorites. To name a few:

Hibike! Euphonium
Blood Blockade Battlefront
Food Wars
Death Parade
School Live
Prison School
Snow White
Ass Class
Chivalry
Danmachi

Ones I knew I was gonna love:

Noragami
SNAFU 2
One Punch Man
Seraph (season 2)
DRRR x2 Shou

But there was several major disappointments, too many actually:

Charlotte
Plastic Memories
F/SN: UBW - By far the biggest disappointment for me. It wasn't bad by any means, but it needed be so much more, and it wasn't.
Nisekoi:
Ninja Slayer
Tokyo Ghoul A

The disappointments I mentioned had some big shoes to fill, but unfortunately just didn't meet expectations at all really and there was big names on there. Looking back at those disappointments hinder my enthusiasm a bit.

Though, actually looking it over, 2015 was a pretty damn good year. I found wonderful experiences in places I didn't think I'd find them and was surprised by a lot of shows. There was lot of good, but there wasn't a lot of good in the places where I hoped it'd be the most. You can't win them all I guess.

First a little disclaimer . I have been watching anime for quite a while started out with DBZ . Pokemon . Naruto etc and if you want tip really stretch it There was Astro Boy !

Second when anime started catching on it was basically Adult Swim / Cartoon Betwork . Funny anime got a foot hold because of cartoons .
Third anime got more exposure when ON Demand came along first TAN ( THe Anime Ntwork ) Then Funimation took over

Fourth only got new episodes on Friday and if it was 4 / 5 shows you were lucky! Akira / Howls Moving Castle / Steamboy / Dirty Pair / Buublegum Crisis is what I remember !

Then the internet I watched Funimation hours on end / then discovered Anime News Network was streaming too ! I wayched Kite other vanime there and CR started up as a link . That was 2010 / 2011.

I had subs to Funimation / Tan first / but dropeed Tan to CR.

Now remember even back in 2011 alot of anime still didbt get streamed you were lucky to have 10 new shows on either in fact less. Even 2013 not all streamed .

So here we are in 2015 almost 99% is streamed so you have a wide choice and people said this year was a wimper so I will disgress loudly!

You are all spoiled . You cant even appreciate the tech you have . My dad worked for a hge TV manufactuer and the TV's were stiil tubes .Just think that big bulky mass of what I ciunsider cool was tubes / caps / transfrmers now on a liitle chip . I even msade phospher for TV Tubes A lot never even seen one . What I am saying things evovle and you take things for granted insyead of embracing old vs the new

2015 I thought a very good year

The bar for anime was raised. I think the music OP / ED's OST were topped all this year. The rocking songs of Rolling Girls . The Cool OP for Gangsta. And RWBY just adds music throughout . - Symphogear just rocked the Soundtrack.

Between Hello Kirino Mosaic and Non-Non Biyori great Slice of Life

Working was amazing !

The action was great all over The dogfight scenes in Kinights of Sidonia was pure bliss a

One Punch Man fight scenes are insane ,

You had Block Battle Blockade / Death Parade the often misunderstood Gangsta

The surprise School Live

The stecthed the limit wuth Monster Musume SHIMONETA Prision

Norgami is a joy

Arslan / Yona / Seven Deadly Sins were great adventures

How about Food wars / Sound Emohorium .

How quickly you forgot about Shirobako / same on you all! A Everybody should watch it because it's more real than you think1

Assassination Classroom among others are coming back I think you have more than ever.

On the negative side the failures also were there but that is expected with over 200 shows . Chatlotte / Comet Lucifer aong them !

This is the year the short is making more inroads than ever. The simpla short sweet anime alsdo got dark with Kagewani

BTW The Ultra Super Short anime Block ihas been fun!

I think the haren theme is overplayed but adults are more time in shows even first roles such as Gangsta.

And With Funi doing quick Dubs / and both Funi / CR getting into production I think the future is exciting.

One thing all this anime is hurt like a S2 The Devil is A Timer

Also A Certaim Magical Index S3 that ppeople want and plenty of material

Sorry if I went off track but the nagative flow so far was a shock . I am not sure if they are on the same planet!

Started at the middle, went to the top, and then declined.

2015 was a good year for me got to see the return of my beloved Sakamaki's Bro's and Additional Vampires that I loved, a sequel to noragami, Fate stay night/UBW, Akatsuki no yona, Akagami and K Return of kings were also very enjoyable to watch. But for me Dance with Devils takes it for the win <3 Hoping a sequel to it.

The only anime I didn't enjoy and drop without a thought was Food Wars, I don't mind ecchi but this series took it a little to far

No, I posted it because it makes me cry. I wanted to remember how the shows filled me with 'the feels'. But then I am a sad and lonely idiot so YMMV.

Renewed Kancolle fever.

Renewed Feels fever.

Renewed Moe-con fever (with a twist!).

Renewed Sports fever.

Renewed Food fever.

Renewed Type-Moon fever.

Renewed LN Adaption fever.

Renewed Gintama fever.

Renewed SHAFT fever (as we approach the story's conclusion).

Renewed Akatsuka-sensei fever.

Renewed(?) Monster Girl fever.

Onepunch Man.

-2015 was a year of sequels and continuations. Endings were a bit weak, but things did end-- whether we wanted them to or not. That is why, as we reach the conclusion of the year, let us end on a high note. Like Nyaruko, end with an "F"ever.
