SO, when people get into anime, most of the time, they watch the very popular shows (Attack on Titan, Sword Art Online, One Punch Man, maybe Naruto or Bleach) to get a taste of it all. This forum is for those anime that you would recommend for those who have seen that top layer of anime and want to go deeper and see some lesser known shows or shows that you don't hear much talk about. These series don't have to be unheard of, but just something someone would have to look a LITTLE deeper for.

If I were to give a couple recommendations:
-Baby Steps: Anime of a high school student who gets an interest in tennis
-Good Luck Girl (Don't know the Japanese name): Story of a girl who has too much good luck and the funny situations she gets into when someone tries to take said good luck. ( this is a parody comedy
-Seitokai Yakuindomo: A slice of life comedy based around students in the student council. The comedy revolves around dirty jokes if you like that kind of comedy.
- Rokka no Yuusha: A more recent anime that's an adventure mystery. The mystery basically revolves around finding the fake.

It'd be great if everyone could give 1 or 2 shows that they'd recommend and give a tiny synopsis. They can be currently airing, really old, or somewhere in the middle! Have a nice day or night!

Well I haven't watched it but I heard Bakemonogatari was really good for long time fans.

Okay, here's one from before 2010 (I was just giving a couple examples, gosh):
-Nitaboh; a historical anime from 2004
Super Dimension Fortress Macross; a mecha from the ancient year of 1982

Chihayafuru for something different/mashup of genres (yes its newish but still not talked about enough).

The 12 Kingdoms - because the 90s-early 00s were awash in girl transported to another world animes. Some of them were actually good too (yes you Escaflowne). However this one was the absolute best.

.hack//sign - because I'm sure everyone has seen a MMO anime before, they just haven't seen a good one + Kajiura at her best.

Blue Seed - here's your old school anime, its everything you liked about Inuyasha only it has an honest to god plot and a great ending.
