Baby boomers were also dubbed the "me generation", due to their selfish immature ways. Millennials seem a lot more civic minded than a lot of past generations, which sadly means there's a lot more SJW's in my age group.

But were also going to be considered the "more with less" generation, since many Millennials happily go without many of what previous generations considered as essentials EG: Cars, homes, etc. And it seems like many Millennials prefer "experiences" over material "things". Such as choosing to go on a hike, or adventure to another country instead of purchasing an expensive object. Also the most health nutty age demographic, which is why fast food chains are struggling to advertise to the Millennial population.

Millennials don't make for great "consumers", so business is pissed at them for having different spending habits. I think its much more about this than their impact in the working environment.

the problem comes from the fact that, for whatever reason, we are being encouraged to find ways to circumvent social issues that we don't want to deal with.
someone says something mean? triggered.
someone says something i don't agree with? triggered.
someone says something sad? triggered.
someone plays music i don't like? triggered.
someone refers to me by the wrong pronoun? triggered.
someone punches me in the face? don't even try to fight back, you obviously can't win because you're worthless. triggered.

It's the freaking parents. They had a great childhood, and they raise their kids like they don't give a shit. In the west that is. Non western country's kids tend to act rather mature depending on their upbringing.

Think you mean they bitch about the past generation, as beatniks and hippies complained about the contented consumerism of the Eisenhower 50's. The problem of thinking you just Made Up everything that everyone else before you found out the hard way will never disappear from the human condition.

Ohh, you know you're your parents when Joe Friday starts making sense:

As Trewill says, though, it's a generation that found out that the desire to fix the old outdated social ideas of the past generations can now make any sweeping ideas about a social group seem Old and Evil, and must therefore be eradicated for our enlightened progression, and now literally try to see how much they can get away with.
The "triggering" has now become like that old joke:

"And not only that, you're repressing the rights of a minority!"
"What 'minority'?"
"--ME!"

Really, you actually said "committed genocide on the economy". And millennials wonder. Please use dictionary when you don't understand words. It makes you sound so stupid.

Yeah, I was wondering when the economy became an ethnic group, too. But I was being nice. haha

Just reposting this because this is the message EVERY new generation needs to hear when they're gung-ho about fixing things they don't yet understand.

Thanks for this Ejanss.

Millennials - See, we AREN'T picking on just you.... yeah, this is the normal cycle of things, but, that doesn't mean you've got everything figured out, either.

I've gotta say; I've noticed that this generation and the last seem to feature a problem with acknowledging parental responsibility, mostly in the West. A lot of my fellow Millennials are kids whose parents essentially threw pill bottles and TV remotes at them and called it a day.

Worse than latchkey kids.

There wasn't an issue with ADHD when I was a kid, maybe two kids had inhalers at school and that was it.

We had ADHD back then, only we called it "hyperactivity", threw Ritalin at it, and they all grew up paranoid and unimaginative.

Nowadays, every teen with ADHD thinks he's "bold" and "revolutionary" for having a Social Disease, and because he can retreat into a chatroom with his other fellow Stewie Griffin fans instead of struggling to adapt himself to the rest of the mere mortals, and learning how to form a complete adult grammatical sentence without F-bombs.

I dunno, I blame the Tumblr blog-o-sphere.

It's a circle jerk of pity.

I hate being a god damn Millennial. I know, it seems a little weird, but I hate what we have become, to say the least. I am one of the only few Millennial who isn't triggered by basic insults these day. These people don't understand what having a hard life really is, or to appreciate what they have. And instead, they decide to censor everyone else because they can't handle having their ideas challenged. They need to grow tougher skin, and learn that life isn't made for them.

Truthfully, my ADD used to scare the shit out of me, and I felt ashamed. I was in denial, but I had to face the reality of my case when I had come close to running off of the road and possibly killing people several times. These days, I look at most so-called "ADHD sufferers" and think; "They wouldn't know legitimate ADHD if it b*tch-slapped them in the face."

Wait, I thought gen Y and millenials were the same thing. I don't get it anymore. I was born in '87. Can someone tell me which generation I am?

Social media?

But a lot of people not from any particular generation seem to have lost any and all common sense in the past 15 or so years. And genuinely I think things like facebook show that and breed that kind of idiocy. Now I am not saying that it is all bad, but I doǹt think it is helping.
