Hi guys :)

The Nintendo NX is expected to be released at CES 2016, which is about a week or so from now.

My question is this:

If the Nintendo NX had the feature to be backwards compatible with Wii and Wii U and copy

your game data from the Wii U to the NX , how would your reaction be ?

And will that tempt you to buy it ?

Given what Nintendo has done with it's previous handhelds and consoles, I'd actually be surprised if they didn't have some sort of backwards compatibility in the NX.

Would that get me to buy one though? Nope. I have pretty much no interest in the games that are usually featured on Nintendo's systems outside of maybe Fire Emblem. Being able to play even more Nintendo games on the new Nintendo system certainly wouldn't do anything for me.

I pay so little attention to what Nintendo do, I don't really know much about this.... but hasn't the Wii U only been around for a little over 3 years now? And they're releasing a new console already?? WTF are Nintendo playing at???

Considering the Wii U memory is laughably small ( 30 gigs was maybe acceptable 10 years ago not any more) This is probably the best news to come out of Nintendo since the Gamecube.

Hmm, the backwards compatibility alone doesn't really tempt me. But if they say you can play Wii/GC games and can be re-rendered to 1080p or higher, that would definitely get my hand reaching for the wallet. This would work really well for games like Skyward Sword which received much criticism from fans about the graphics.

That's why they did a recall on the white Wii U's everyone wanted 32gb. It would've made more sense to market 32 and 64gb Wii U's then they would have to do a recall on the black Wiii U's! Hahahaha! You have to remember Nintendo is behind the times, I didn't realise it until lately as a long time Nintendo fan I grew up with the Gameboy and N64 so of course I'll buy any next new system Nintendo comes out with. But when the DS was new I wanted the PSP! I only saw potential in the DS that didn't make me want the DS. The PSP had superior graphics I was having fun then I went with the 3DS and I hated the PSVita . After reading so much about Nintendo and having experienced different games I'm willing to accept Nintendo is behind the times.

They are the first to invent the gaming consoles afterall, that gave other companies a chance to look over their shoulder and see what they need to do differently. Which is why the PSP was better then the DS. But if the NX is going to be using industry leading chips in speaking of chips just hearing this makes me want Nintendo to partner with NVIDIA on making the NX cuz God help Nintendo they don't want to repeat the failures of the Wii U. If I know NVIDIA well, they would make a damn good system with Nintendo.

Nintendo has a long way to go to catch up with Microsoft and Sony. Seeing as both the Xbox One and the PS4 are running off an AMD 8 core processor and both come standard with a 500 gig hard drive. And in the case of the Xbox One the ability to hook any old external hard drive to have basically as much storage space as you want.
