My biggest pet peeve with is how they rate their shows content-wise. They seemingly rate it as how they damn well please, giving shows too high a rating that they don't deserve (Gundam the Origin has an R+ rating (which means adults only) even though in terms of overall content, it's clearly in PG-13 range) and giving raunchy shows too low a rating (Heaven's Lost Property, which to them is PG-13 rated, is waaaay to extreme for that rating). And really, what's the point for a rating that specifically targets nudity (R+). Do they really need to make a specific rating for that. What makes it so special. Do they really need to inform people about it so much and treat it as something different. Also, they seemingly deny any requests for a change in rating to better reflect the show's overall content.

Same, of course I switched to Anilist later on because it looked cleaner.

I wonder why Prison School isn't R rated. It's clearly very inappropriate.

I pat shows on the back if they manage to make it to R+ without sexual content, it means they have a lot of epic stuff and is something to watch.

Well that'show I see it anyway. If they were rating it Rx I get it... but R+ isn't so bad.

Gundam the Origin doesn't have that much sexual content, barely any really. It's just that whoever determines the ratings at MAL are seemingly ultraconservatives.

R+ makes it adults only, and it makes no sense with a show like Gundam the Origin.

R doesn't have to have sexual content in it, it might just have mature themes that's is only suitable for adults.

anyways, is there a site that might be perhaps better than mal you would suggest?

Except MAL has PG and PG-13, so this makes R+ for adults only.

As for a website, try ThemAnime, though it's a bit outdated

I never understood their content warning system either. The R+ for violence & profanity is kind of ridiculous. Violence and profanity can be found just as easily in shows intended for teenagers?? I don't hate the site itself, I find some people in the forums to be odd, shrewd, and pretentious, and not all the views are just in my eyes either, but i do agree that the 'content rating system' is ridiculous. Which is why using MAL for an "appropriate vs inappropriate", "should someone of a certain age watch this anime" reason would be quite a faulty choice.

the other R+ is for nudity, and the R+ for violence and swearing is called R-17+. The R+ rating for nudity pretty much means adults only (the name says it all)

Crunchyroll needs:

- "Anime I've watched"
- "Manga I've read"

and

- "Hentai I've watched"
- "Hentai manga I've read"
