You know, I wish we had pre-screenings here too. Wouldn't that be cool? We get to see a bit of the episode before it officially airs; I mean, I would like that.

I agree with you.

It's just one of those perks of living in another country. Although, I heard Japan got to see the new Star Wars movie before it even came out here in America, so I don't know what the heck happened there!

Just a short thought for now (I need to re-watch this again in a much better quality than on TV) to get full thoughts. Don't worry, no spoilers:

The artwork is very refreshing. Not sure why they played the OP song at the end but whatever. (I think they do the ED theme next time) The action was nice. Yes there's some "fan service" but nowhere close to some other shows. I have to say the show has a slower pace than some fantasy series so have to be more patient to get to the more exciting stuff.

Good episode.

CR should get this show....

Edit: to get a good idea of the artwork, it's like this:

But the animation in the episode itself will be more fluid.

I thought that this would be a CR show as well, but being licensed by Funi that it's not going to happen. Reading the description, it's like Log Horizon, except that it's ordinary people in this alternative world, not just gamers. In any case, it will be up in 20 minutes.

Episode 1

No Haruhiro, this isn't a game. Heck, the concept is foreign in this world. And so it all begins when a bunch of strangers wake up in a foreign world known as Grimgar, and they becomes soldiers to survive. So to get a job, everybody joins a guild and picks a class, and Haruhiro picks the thief class. So 13 days in Grimgar, and not a single bit of money is earned. This is pretty much setup here seeing that this party just formed, and so far it looks like it will be a very intriguing show going forward. The concept has been done several times ever since SAO, but here there's no gaming aspect to it.

Well. Kids getting sucked into a different world. Get conscripted into the local militia. Get trained. And aren't very good at their job. Unsurprising since they only got 7 days worth of training.

Well it certainly runs a bit by the conventions of these shows while at the same time trying to play it a bit more realistically. IE the kids are not exactly good at this. And mentally they are certainly struggling with this, in particular since their past has been erased for the most part. But clearly it is still affecting them. The mage being the most obvious

Looks good, Op was neat, fighting was good. Characters besides the "Dark knight" are alright. So it has my interest.

Curious how more of the world we'll learn and these kids arrival. Since it is clear that this is a regular occurence. Otherwise they wouldn't have Heavily armoured guards waiting once they arrived to recruit them into the militia. The Red moon probably being important in this regard. Seeing as the guy "hiring" them was in a company called the Red moon Company.

Also got that other party which is doing really well it seems. Certainly not going to be good for moral for the other party.

So a lot this episode really.

Since SAO? I was thinking .Hack or a series even older than that one!

Perhaps. But SAO rather seems to have kicked off the recent wave. So makes more sense to think of SAO as the progenitor for it.

Episode 1

A decent start!

So, fan service is so evident and the concept is that of any MMO themed series with a Fantasy genre. Next episode looks promising, so ready for that!
