Ditto, love the artwork and charadesigns but first episode was sloooooooooooooooooow. I sure hope it picks up the pace. Or is it 2 cour maybe? If 12 episodes they better get moving.

And also ditto, trapped / transported into a game... I dunno. Will see if they bring something new to the table or not. Hopefully it will entertain me enough to continue watching.

Slow but mysterious first episode. Very interested on how things proceed. I also like the aesthetics of the show. Very fantasy like.

The show looks really pretty...but I can't say I care much about the characters. I like how they start off as complete noobs instead of being overpowered from the get-go. Feels like a new approach.

very nice animation from what i saw, it's a bit too chill and relaxing (heck the goblins were chilling and relaxing) that you kinda forget they are trying to survive.

Ep 1

Hello Barbara, mhm.

Would have preferred if the show follow the other (maybe OP?) group...I can already feel the drag&MyHate for this crew, aside from Manato.

Oh, it was made by A-1 Pictures, that's why it looked so glorious.
Looking forward to watch more of this Danmachi/overlord/log horizon/SAO/whatever 2.0.

Episode 1: Whisper, Chant, Prayer, Awaken

Echoing what a lot of people said. This was a slow episode. But I will not disregard it based on that cause while no conflict has been introduced the world building so far is pretty nice.

First couple minutes in, and I was like Pffft Noobs. Then they actually turned out to be ones. I guess with no formal training or experience in these types of things can lead to two goblins kicking your butts.

Anyways the backgrounds are definitely unique, and the character designs are enjoyable. To point it out. Yume: DAT ASS, Shihoru: DAT CHEST, Barbara: DAT....EVERYTHING

Anyways looking forward to the next episode and what it will bring to the table.

Having read the 1st chapter of the manga, I'd have to say, I was slightly disappointed with the 1st episode. It pretty much didn't explain anything and was missing the guide who came to pick them up from the tower making the transition from the scene to the volunteer corps office look stange. The scene inside the volunteer corps office was more detailed in the manga. It kinda felts like one chapter had more content that 1 episode to me.

On another note though, the artwork looks fantastic. The background's detail reminds me of RPGs I used to play before where the backgrounds were pre-rendered (not sure if that's the right word XD) and I do like the main characters' designs more specially the girls

This what i wss going to post but I'll second your thought

Feels like a mix of Log Horizon / Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?

But I do like it / the animation/ cast

I was really excited for this anime the moment I read it's first sentence in the summary on anichart a month ago: "living, isn't easy."

Although after reading the whole thing I didn't expect a video-game-in-real-life-type show, but w/e, I feel like it'll still be good.

The first episode didn't really meet my expectations, but I wasn't really disappointed either. The thing that really struck me was with how the episode ended. It was very serene, peaceful, and uneventful. Every other show that premiered this week ended right on a climax (boku dake, gate 2) or had a large, impactful scene within in the last 8 minutes and the episode ended in the falling action (active raid, dimension w, schwarsemarken, luck and logic, prince of stride) but grimgar went in an completely different direction. it wasn't the best I had watched, but I do want to keep watching to see where it goes.

No, since it got picked up by Funimation, it is statistically 99+% unlikely to be on CR based on comparing overlap between the two competitors catalogs.

Loved the art, and while I enjoy the whole "we suck shit and are gonna starve soon" scenario, im just waiting for them to be incredibily op in the end against some monster boss thing. They had a good deal of hot girls (and a 12 year old for lolicons), but I really hated the five minute discussion on tits and whether cow tits/Shihoru was fat or nor, and all additional fanservice

the combat was really good tho

Episode 1

Right off the bat, I HATE THEIR VOICES. It's like none of the characters sound how they look, with Haruhiro being the prime example. He looks 15 but sounds 30. It bugged me this entire episode since it was ALL of them that sounded...eh. The episode was slow, but they at least gave hints and backstory for me to be slightly interested. The animation in the beginning with the action looked great, but fell off since the rest of the episode was barely any movement from them, just talking about being hungry and boobs. Characters...Haruhiro, yeah i don't care for him. Ranta seems like my type of character; reminds me of Black Star. Yume scares me. She just...smiles and stares. Shihiro. Crybaby boobs. The big dude sounds dopey. The leader is...well, he's the leader. And Barbara is a slutty thief apparently.

The art style is really nice.

Otherwise nothing much seemed to happen. They're either dead children who were reincarnated into this world or something along that line. Plus they're straight up noobs.
