This show is not going to be like SAO or other similar shows. It will be slower paced and more focused on the characters struggling with the simplest of tasks.

Finally watched episode 1

I somewhat like the watercolor look art, at first the appears the characters look like it but it less watercolor as the episode went on.

It feels slow.
There is a lot of foreboding of impending doom

As for Hosoya as Harohiko, I think his voice is too big for him and so I am having a hard time accepting it for the smaller stature character.

Although not the lead ,
Renji is Tomokazu Seki. I am happy that he is getting more work lately .

I like how we were all expecting MC-kun to have the generic MC-kun voice (also known as ''The Kirito''). It definitely caught me off guard but I don't mind at all, a lot of teens have deep voices. I'm sure we'll all get used to it after a few episodes.

Finally got around to checking out Ep. 1.

I REALLY liked it. I love that watercolor aesthetic. overall the show is beautiful. Good character designs for the most part as well, if not a bit cliche.

I just hope this doesn't disappoint me in the way that Comet Lucifer did.

I loved Barbara. I hope we get to see more of her. She fine! haha

And Shihoru is f'in adorable

i have not followed this light novel or manga, does anyone have any information on a legal source for the manga? I tried finding a manga and thought there was only a light novel, i usually get results so this is strange.... who holds the manga licence?

loved the first episode but if you guys are saying the pacing is slow i doubt they will cover much in this season so i will need to read ahead......

i mean i can't even find a place to buy it yet seeing as volume one is not completed? anyone have a simulpub licence?

if not.....
crunchyroll please?

I saw the first ep and my gamer girl instincts were screaming. I was yelling at the screen "Give me the controller!!! Its called skills and strategy!! You can take those goblins just go for it!!! I got this let me do it."

The actual animated OP song:

Action was okay this episode against the goblins. Also, I want that theme song (soundtrack) in the second half when it's released.

Episode 2

For being a thief, Haruhiro sure isn't acting like one seeing that he charged into that battle with the goblin like that. Slaying monsters is a lot tougher when it has to be done in their hands rather than in the game seeing that they had such a tough time taking down that goblin. That was an alright episode there seeing that the visuals and the music are pretty much the stuff I focus on more so than the story. And even in a situation like this, Ranta still had to find a way to peep at the girls in the bath.

That song that plays in the middle episode is really nice to listen to. It's called Seeds, and it is sung by the same singer who did both theme songs.

Ranta is going to stay annoying isn't he?

I liked the psychological angle on physically killing a mob, as that is usually desensitised by the mob transformign into pixels/polygon dust in various media.

A little jealousy detected from Yume towards Manato & Shihoru?

Very strong second episode. I do hope we get to see things a little more from the perspective of those other than just the MC but I really can't complain about anything so far. So nice to see people actually struggling a little (or a lot) and learning instead of just walking in being OP. I hope they never do become OP but at least at this point if they get there it will be a journey instead of the usual. I also really like that the show is continuing with the quiet character driven moments. There seems to be a lot of whining when shows go slow and aren't all action but I personally much prefer this approach.

Ranta is like Favaro if you take out what's actually appealing about him.

That aside, I liked this episode better than the last. It explores the concept of ''You know all those RPG monsters that you slaughter by the hundreds? They're sentient and cling to life as desperately as you would if you were in their shoes. And you were ganging up on him 6 on 1, you assholes!'' You can tell our ''heroes'' are not too happy about it either.

That little montage may have went on for a bit too long, but it was a nice to see them relax in their peaceful village to get over the trauma of fighting. I'm starting to raise my expecations for Grimgar
