Yes. Because pastors are talking dolls which never say anything new and repeat two or three phrases whenever you pull their string on Sunday (or Saturday if you're a Seventh-Day Adventist).

Considering that the ABC News report I linked to demonstrated that Jeremiah Wright, Obamas' pastor, consistently proclaimed those views, I don't think it is possible to entertain the belief that over the two decades Mr. Obama knew Jeremiah Wright as a member of his congregation and as a political mentor that Mr. Obama was for that entire period unaware of what Jeremiah Wright was preaching.

Republicans generally claim to highly prioritize a politician or candidate's "moral values", which almost always translates into religious beliefs. So, one would logically expect them to be aware with the President's religious beliefs.

I don't hate the guy not worth the effort. I just don't take him seriously after that you didn't build it comment and if Assad uses chemical weapons in Syria it crosses a red line bs he fed to the world.

Take your tinfoil hat off Maxgale. It's unseemly.

In not one of those clips shown did Jeremiah Wright shout out, "God damn America," or anything similar to it. He criticized the United States and made statements which could be viewed as controversial, but he never cried out for the damnation of the United States. To suggest that this is all evident of some hypocrisy on Obama's part is to ignore a crucial part of the sermon -- the part, which I suspect, most of the controversy stems from.

So, what you're saying is, since 9/11, he's grown more extreme and Obama hasn't kept in touch with him? Interesting.

That's certainly plausible. People and their views change over time. But the core of what I'm saying is that it's simply too early to begin formulating conspiracy theories about Obama, his religious views, whether or not his condemnation was politically motivated, etc. While Jeremiah's words may have been controversial, that doesn't mean that they were always the same words. To link previous statements to this one is to regard apples and oranges as the same. Yeah, they're both fruit, but of a different kind and variety.

Obama has been clear in his belief in Christianity. I do not detect any uncertainty in his faith.
