I called Amazon customer support and they said that Crunchyroll needed to update the app, I also found out that others who are having the same problems on their devices are claiming that because of an update the app doesn't work.

I posted about this when the problem happened back in November here: http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-927073/is-the-kindle-fire-app-no-longer-supported

There hasn't been any word about it, but my guess is that they don't intend to update the Kindle app since it has been out of date for years. The only way to watch CR on Kindle is using 3rd party web browsers. Dolphin sort've works half the time, but won't cooperate with certain ads and crashes frequently. Adblocker's beta-stage web browser can run CR's Flash okay, but you can't use full screen on it. None of the others I've tried worked with CR's website at all.

Yes, it's frustrating. I was happily using the app and all it needs is a patch. I was planning to subscribe since I liked the convenience of the app on my new Kindle so much, but that's a moot point when I can't run an app that is supposedly available but ignored.

I googled quite a while back and found an apk file for specifically version 1.1.4 that's working just fine sideloaded on my 8.9 HD Fire tablet... But you have to be very careful about where you get a copy from, because there are lots of places that have extra features (malware) added. I ran three different malware detectors (including malwarebytes) on my copy and it seems to be OK (knock wood).
