I am also a member of numerous sites. The ability to call Netflix and speak to a representative is a plus in my book. Whether it is suggestions for new material or old to trouble shooting a problem. Funimation has a some decent shows as well although I have some problems with the streaming on my PS. The forums here on Crunchyroll are interesting to read but I rarely ever comment. History tends to repeat itself. It seems to be a pattern of problems for Crunchyroll users as well which ranges from censoring issues to lack there of to not having the streaming work consistently. To have a membership should also mean your able view in all areas instead of not "shown in your area". And yes I was a All Access or Premium+ member for quite awhile. I believe its safe to say there are pros and cons to were ever you go or stay.

^ lol, I guess we're not real creative when it comes to making threads are we?

As for the OP and like-minded, I would say that opening up a contest to existing members decreases the likelihood a new member would win (unless CR, shall we say, "tweaked" the stakes in favor of new members), and thus new members would be less likely to "take the plunge" so to speak. Honesty, though, I don't recall ever hearing about CR contests and it sounds like a number of other people were in the same spot, so that should say how poorly publicized this stuff is. lol

Yes, that last statement is very true. The sites with fewer "major" problems do tend to draw more loyal customers because when something "major" happens, folks know it is not the norm. When you talk about viewing in all areas instead of just shown in your area, are you talking about the anime alone, or also the forums? For the anime, I can understand it to a point especially when there is content that may not be legally allowed in some countries outside of the licensing issues. Basically, not all content is acceptable in all areas.

That is a very good point. Many users probably don't know about the contests. Therefore, any contest meant to draw in new members and old members alike is probably going to have a good chance for new members. Then again, with poorly publicized contests, the new members may not even be aware of them.

The not shown in your area was basically an example of some of the recurring problems I have noticed on the forums. I have always been able to view any shows listed unless I had a technical issue at that time. I was speaking about the people not on the North American continent (UK, Australia, etc.) who expected to receive the same programming as anyone else would when they signed up for a membership, now whether there is a disclaimer which states this or not I do not know. If there is then maybe it should be made more prevalent before hand. Most people would be disappointed if it happened to them I believe?
I do think the idea of having a choice between a uncensored version or censored version is an excellent choice for the viewer. Crunchyroll has done this for a couple of anime that I know of. Personally, I want to see a show in its entirety which means uncut, unedited and uncensored so I can make an informed decision on if I want to purchase the home version. In most cases once I have seen the show in whole I usually buy It.
