I really enjoy folk music but I've mostly only heard north american folk. I love me some canadian folk, both Stan and Garnet Rogers, Gordon Lightfoot etc. When it comes to folk in the U.S. i'm never sure when it stops being folk and starts being country but I love Peter Paul and Mary and John Denver. I'm really in to Ben Howard right now on the modern folk side of things

I don't listen to too much, but I heavily respect its artistic merit and importance in history, especially the American folk movement in the 1960s (the era I'm most particularly interested in). The only artists I know of and listen to are Simon & Garfunkel (fantastic group), and Bob Dylan (though I don't know too much from him).
