Hey everyone we've got our FIRST Winter 2016 simulcast announcement coming your way!

We're excited to announce that we'll be simulcasting LUPIN THE 3rd PART4 this season! Back episodes and simulcast will be available January 7th @ 11:30AM PST.

A beloved classic franchise, LUPIN THE 3rd PART4 will be the first full-fledged Lupin the 3rd television series to air since 1984, when Lupin the 3rd Part 3 aired. The new story takes place in Italy and San Marino, and features a blue-jacketed Lupin in his 20’s. Lupin the 3rd follows the escapades and adventures of master thief Arsene Lupin III, a brilliant thief who has been able to carry off heists no one ever thought possible. Although he has been arrested and jailed on multiple occasions, he has always managed to escape.

Territories: United States, Canada, Central and South America, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, Scandinavia, and the Netherlands.

Stay tuned for more winter simulcast announcements!

I've been wondering about Lupin since so many people seem to like it! Too bad for the rest of the continent though. Really these licences should be made available for the EU at least. We're already an economic bloc so why not? Maybe we should start a petition

What i really want to know is tho, will we also get the last DRRR now Funimation has it?

I'm confident CR will also stream DRRR, it would be insane if Funimation had exclusive rights over a series that's licensed by Aniplex USA.

Well, well. A title for the Netherlands right off the bat. I honestly did not see that coming.
Hopefully this trend continues. Although i'm obviously not holding my breath here, prior experience has learnt me not to expect much of anything anymore when it comes to this stuff.

Aniplex of America have full rights (streaming & home video**), they just simply expanded their streams to include Funimation that's all.

Both Durarara!!x2 Ketsu and Erased (Boku dake ga Inai Machi) will be on Crunchyroll (as well as Daisuki*).

*Daisuki confirmed UK rights for Erased so I would assume Crunchyroll might do the same.

**Home video depends on how well the streams are doing on Crunchyroll etc, Aniplex aren't fussed about not bothering to release certain titles on DVD or Blu-ray.

It's kind of impressive to me that we are now getting DRRR on THREE streaming sites, yet none of them are making the show available in Europe (unless CR changes the territories for the last season, which is unlikely) What did we do to Aniplex to deserve this?

The first 3 parts were already licensed by a US company, Discotek, who is the publisher providing them to CR (which is also why they are available only in the US and Canada).

I wouldn't be surprised if the way CR got the rights to this series were by also getting the home video rights (they've done it with a few series before). If so, I would expect they would relicense those rights to Discotek, as they did with these series.
