Lol I remember begging my dad to buy me an anime VHS when I was just getting into anime as a kid. He told me since he was buying it, that he was going to watch it with me, which I didn't see a problem with that. Little did I know that it was rated Mature for a reason and there
was so much violence and nudity in it that it just got really awkward.

Watch anime with my parents? Good one.

Anything outside of Studio Ghibli would get awkward rather quickly.

Yeah I know! watching Ninja Scoll with the parents was awkward.

The only anime that my old man could sit through for more than an episode was Parasyte.

I watched a lot with my father growing up.

All my sisters, my dad, and I used to watch Sailor Moon together.
Same with Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. It was always a family thing.
My dad would watch Cowboy Beebop, Inuyasha, and Ghost in the Shell with me.
Sometimes he would sit in for Yuyu Hakusho.
He thought Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo was weirdly amusing.
He also watched Kino no Tabi on his own at my request and liked the human satire in it.

Now, there are very few anime that I would suggest to him to watch.

I asked my dad if he would watch some anime movies with me, but he would always decline. He's just not used to animated stuff. I still ask sometimes to tease him.

That's so true, most of the anime my family and I watched together is stuff from 2005 and before. When my dad asked me if there was any good new series out there, the only one I could think of was Mush-shi.

If my grandmother was still alive I'm pretty sure she would watch it with me. She would watch things like Pokemon and Yugioh with me when I was little. She liked the big eyes.

My mom has tried, but she isn't really into anime. She loves the art, but for some reason she just can't get into it.

Kind of... I mean, my dad was so bored one day that I told him if he wanted to watch Attack on Titan. He ended up watching like 8 episodes in one sitting. I had to go somewhere, so I only watched about 3 with him.

Ha. My parents barely know much about TV in general, much less anime.

Nope.

My mother doesn't get it, while my father dubs it 'Jap-Crap'. My sister and I are pretty much the only ones who watch anime.
