And people still deny that rape culture is a thing. Fucking disgusting.

It is also possible he traded the drugs for sex.

With all the accusations stacking up, it was bound to happen eventually. No matter how famous or loved he was at one point in time, the probability that all the women who've come forward are lying is extremely slim. Like, very, very slim. Sure, I'm not going to deny that there are attention seekers who will try to hop on the bandwagon, but if you read some of their accounts, it certainly seems like it's 'elaborate' faking if they're supposedly 'all' faking. 20-30+, I think the tally may be even higher now-- women coming forward claiming to be assaulted...... that's a lot to try and disprove, the number is pretty hefty against him.

To be honest, I think he is guilty. He has 40 something accusers with the same story. What are the chances that they're all lying? Now do I believe some are lying? Sure, it happened before. The chance that they're all lying? I'm skeptical. Seems like conspiracy bullshit to me.

True, when dozens of people claim the same thing, it's hard to defend it without admitting it may possibly be true:

Strange how that guy got a get out of jail free card, tho'.

Curious to see what our resident lawyer has to say about this.

My biggest question is that "This happened 12 years ago, but why is it only going to court now?"
Lots of fishy stuff floating about imo.

Don't want this to turn out like the Ched Evans case where shit still isn't resolved three years on and the guy is screwed out of making a living.

Like others have said, there seem to be some questionable circumstances to this case. Even if Cosby is cleared of charges his public persona is damaged, but it is the DA who would be finished if that is Cosby isn't convicted.

It has happened before.

The scare cost Pepsi some $25 million in lost sales and higher marketing costs, and another $10 million in increased coupon.

According to Arlene Levinson of the Associated Press, "Not one of the hundreds of reports filed in June of syringes in soft drink cans turned out to be authentic."

The FDA arrested 53 people in some twenty states for lying about consumer product tampering. None of the people arrested was able to show that Pepsi was at fault. However, not everyone who filed a claim was arrested for filing false claims.

They would put him in protected custody most likely.

I still stand by my point. I didn't say it was impossible, just unlikely.

I just wonder why people get so involved and concerned with the affairs of these celebrities.

If you are somehow involved in the lives of Cosby or the supposed rape victims, or are involved with the legal matters, sure, knock yourself out. I just don't see how anyone else has the time or energy to follow it.

Because he was sort of a pioneer, an idol for many in the black community. It's shocking to see such accusations being levied against someone who had historical significance.

It's because he was viewed as a role model for the black community and he would often portray himself as one, often saying thing like the Pound Cake Speech and whatnot. The idea that someone like that has been going around and doing something so vile for decades is what people find to be so shocking.
