I don't necessarily mean which anime is your favorite one. I just mean which one do you think can be classified as a masterpiece? Which one has that unique structure that is just so well made that you just hold up highly? For me, its Death Note. I admire the way Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata created a world with so many complicated factors and loopholes to it. I definitely give it a high rating but in the end that's just my opinion I would love to hear your opinons, what do you think?

Besides it being my favorite show, I also think it's a masterpiece. Each short story feels like a moving poem.

Personally, I think Shin Sekai Yori, the monogatari series and Angel Beats are masterpieces.

Cowboy Bebop is pretty good.
Evangelion is hilarious when you realize what kind of a budgeting and logistical train wreck it was pretty much from the first episode (original Evangelion).
Code Geass is awesome as far as story, animation, and feel. It's very hard to get an anime that can appeal to such a broad range of people without it being a long running shounen,

Your Lie in April

A beautiful story told rather masterfully; definitely one of the most recent masterpieces in my opinion.

(Although, I may be biased because Chopin's music is so eargasmic.)

Hmmm, "masterpiece" is a strong word, but I'd say Steins;Gate is a masterpiece. FLCL , Hunter x Hunter & Neon Genesis Evangelion are all top tier anime as well. I'm also a sucker for Death Note , Trigun & Gungrave . I know I'm forgetting some major ones that as soon as I hit "Post Reply" I'm gonna be like, "NOOOOO WAAAAAIT" & then my computer will explode, as shards of glass & plastic project like a missile out my window killing a little orphaned child who was just beginning to appreciate life.

Despite Hunter x Hunter (2011) being my absolute favorite, I'm going with Ping Pong & Legend of the Galactic Heroes.
