Nah son, there's been times when people are roleplaying with me and I just shut them down as soon as I can
I don't care if they do it, but just don't do it to me

Not with others, though I do have in interest in roleplaying in RPGs.

And I do roleplay whenever I play single player RPGs. Create my own character and try to think, act, and behave as that character would in-game.

The problem is (especially with multiplayer RPGs, but even some single player RPGs as well), there usually comes a "wall" where roleplaying just isn't effective in terms of game mechanics, and i absolutely HATE that. With single player it's ok because it basically just becomes a challenge run, but you can't be competitive in PVP, or effective in cooperative multiplayer, which is kind of a downer.

I used to... when I was like 16-17.

Was in a forum where everyone spoke in Old English (as in "Fare thee well m'lady... " *bows low*, "...and you too kind sir..").

We had a kingdom ran by a queen and a ne'er-do-well king, knights of the round table, duchesses, dukes, princesses, ladies-in-waiting, witches and peasants.

Everyone was really into character and funny. It was awesome.

I do tabletop gaming twice a week where I do most of my role playing.

Currently playing:
Leon, a Hopeless Romantic, Cleric in a Pathfinder (Reign of winter) campaign which really has minimal role playing.
and
Hikaru Tachibana, a century plus old Japanese wizard, who is vengeful, but compassionate when required in a Dresden Files campaign. He carries a guilt dating back to the Kanto earthquake of 1923, as spirits had spoken to him, but at the time he did not understand the warnings given as his powers had not yet awakened fully. He carries deep feelings from the war of 1937-45 (which cost him most of his family), with complex emotions ranging from guilt to hatred. Currently residing in Vancouver, British Columbia, he apprentices under the White Council, and manipulates, the world that mundanes cannot comprehend, behind the scenes. When killing is required he tries to manipulate to that others kill who he needs dead, but if required, he kills by mundane means to not corrupt his magic, usually in the form of a ancient Katana, hardened by earth magics, and enchanted with spirit magic to allow carrying it without drawing attention. He also enjoys cooking, his garden, and sashimono woodworking.

I find online games people just want to power level, and acquire gear, they don't have a personality, other than some that just jerks*, but I don't think they are role-playing that.

But think of the tips...unless you're in Japan where it's bad manners apparently to tip.
