But think of the tips...unless you're in Japan where it's bad manners apparently to tip.

Haha you have to role play to get the tips

I did some One Piece roleplaying on reddit a couple months ago. I quit suddenly because that's what I do. I quit things.

Pilot and flight attendant sounds like it would be fun >_>

Gamewise, I did try DND with a group of friends once, and it was pretty fun, I'd try again if I had a good group

Used to forum roleplay, not my thing anymore.
Used to PM roleplay, definitely not my thing anymore.
I play RPG's, and enjoy them still to this day.
I'll gladly roleplay in an MMORPG to this day.
A club I'm in plays a game of D&D on occasion.
I'd even do the kinky stuff in the future.

Although, there's nothing better than role-playing in real life.
Every, single, day.

("^w^)/ Cause I need to feel good about myself as the (self-proclaimed) White Knight of Light!

Only in MMOs, where it's my preferred method of communication (now).

For some stupid backwards reason, many modern MMOs are designed so that every class can solo, which defeats the purpose IMO. Even healers can manage most missions by themselves, so players only really team up and interact for world bosses and extremely late-game PVP. So these days, if you want to actually adventure with people, make friends, and team up consistently, the RP community is your best bet.

When I played City of Heroes over 10 years ago, teaming was necessary for most classes. DPS characters had very low HP and needed tanks to avoid getting blown up, support classes had nearly no offensive moves and needed DPS, etc. I didn't need to RP then because I was constantly meeting, supporting, and leading groups.

But now, in games like The Old Republic and Wildstar, I rarely speak to anyone unless they're RPing. I tend to use support classes so teams are more likely to pick me up, but even that's rare, and usually only for those giant 4-hour missions. And then they don't communicate anyway. So when it comes to regular missions and friendly everyday play, RPing is the only way I see results.

MMOs should encourage multiplayer, no?
But now you're soloing 90% of the time and only team up in special cases.
I guess the logic is, "You should be able to play even if you can't find a team," but it cripples the genre.

I used to do the old Chat Room and forum RPs many years ago. These days though I do still enjoy RP but through Online gaming. I have a decent size group that moves from game to game as news ones come along that all RPs together.
