Hmmm. Dissapointments ? hard to say. I'd have to say some continuations of shows that had good or at least decent first seasons. Garo. Testament of sister new devil. Storywise they just fell through the second season with little to redeem them.

Other shows that i started to watch and which fell through. Well didn't have much reason to be dissapointed as there wasn't much to be dissapointed in. The signs were there i suppose. Gunslinger stratos, chaos dragon.

The second season of gatchaman i suppose ? It just felt utterly.. vapid.

I dunno. Was a good year i think overall.

Well, I guess if I'm going to throw shows into the "disappointing" category, the first that come to mind are: Comet Lucifer, Tokyo Ghoul Root A, Charlotte, God Eater, Rokka -Braves of the Six Flowers-, Aldnoah Zero, World Break: Aria of a Curse for a Holy Swordsman in terms of the shows i actually watched.

The problem with most of these shows is just the execution was done so lazily or half-assed, there was no real way for me to enjoy them, and Comet Lucifer was just boring after the first few episodes despite having a "Eureka Seven" kinda vibe at the start.

Assassination Classroom: The only thing that got assassinated was my hopes that this show could be even average.

Charlotte: At least P.A works managed to make a show that is worse than Glasslip. This show really gave Garo a run for its money being the worst show of the year.

Denpa Kyoushi: Was expecting a mediocre GTO and instead got the worst show I have seen with an adult protagonist this year.

Gansta: Now with Manglobe broke we will never get a ending. Not disappointed that this won't get an ending, but Manglobe made The World God Only knows so I will miss them. Thanks Gansta for bankrupting an anime studio I really liked.

Garo: Worst show of the year which means a lot considering Charlotte came out this year.

Gate: Interesting first episode that got destroyed by random moe girl cancer

Komori-san: From the same author of "I can't Understand My Husband" which was a solid comedy we get a fan service loli show that is supposed to be comedy yet never gave us any.

The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki: Really disappointed that this was just a mediocre clique romance that is done by several anime every year.

Miss Monochrome Season 2: All I wanted it to be was as good as season one or close to it, but utterly failed and was so bad I didn't even watch season three because of this.

One Punch Man: Expected a good show got an average one.

Punch Line: This show was good then episode one happened.

Rolling Girls: After an AMAZING first episode this show went face first off a cliff. This coupled with how many people I showed the first episode and got them hyped for the second episode only made it worse.

Sailor Moon Crystal: Don't trust Toei Animation I guess is the moral of this story and they continue to show why they are the worst animation studio.

School Live: Wanted a psychological apocalyptic show instead got a really bad pseudo-psychological show filled with moe girls that removed any sense of terror or urgency (fan service scenes did not help this show on bit).

Shokugeki no Souma: Was hoping for anime Iron Chef, but lots of fan service, forced character growth, and a un-losing main protagonist that has no issues . . . great.

Triage X: shows like these are why fan service is cancer. Only was expecting it to be as mediocre as Highschool of the Dead and didn't even manage that.

So you dislike it for pretending to be what it's not? Eren Yaeger said he was going to exterminate all the titans but he didn't, so does that mean attack on titan sucks? Basically you are saying because it wasn't what I expected, I hated it. I will agree the last episode though, that was just fucking stupid.

I do dislike it for not being what the first few episodes basically promised. This is actually a problem with fiction, which I have spent time in writing, critiquing, and being critiqued in. You simply do not promise your audience something and not deliver. It was around episode 4ish before the true purpose of the show was revealed, and then it was never clear that it would be the lasting theme, until it continued on and on and on. Don't pretend to be action/adventure and then be primarily mystery.

Attack on Titan is a horrible comparison. It promised to be action, and it delivered. That the conflict is not yet over is only a matter of the story not reaching that point, then.

And it IS okay to mix in a little mystery into action and vice-versa. Complex stories are great, and necessary in this current age.

So, yeah, it DOES bug me that Rokka promised to be something it was not. BUT, I also hate cluster-fuck mystery as a rule. So, the fact that it promised a fast paced action adventure and delivered a Clue-like mystery, and then turned around and started the whole process over again at the final episode (in true Lost-like, cluster-fuck, fashion).... yeah, I was furious.

Okay, that I can agree with. Aot was indeed a terrible example, sorry about that. I liked it because I thought it was rather unique, but I can definitely see why it would piss you off as well, seeing as there really wasn't any good action the entire summer lineup.

Rokka no yuusha was the biggest disappointment for me of the year not because of the reasons covered here however i'm not big into mystery actually and i was actually into it until the end conclusion...

Rokka was disappointing because it had an unsatisfactory conclusion. Effectively nothing was resolved and a new character pops up purely to empathize "go read the LNs lol". It opens with an entire season chasing its own tail. Beautiful art, fun sequences, but utter flop of an execution.

This would have been forgiven however the story leads you into believing the culprit is someone else entirely when the reality is these braves who are terrible people that have no business being selected actually aren't the fake. And that pisses me off to no end.
The actual fake however has zero clues when you're reading their personality their mask/facade is 100% perfect it has you forgetting two obvious clues that wraps up the whole guessing game. And that is a perfect example of forced drama.

Again the reason this was the biggest disappointment for me because i had extremely high hopes for this series, and i would be willing to read this series if the person in question wasn't so misleading and unreadable.

Well...for me it was Log Horizon, season 2.

First of all, the animation quality dropped so much that my eye were hurt the first...10 episodes?

Then, the abuse wayyyyyyyyy too much of the glasses for Nothing...

The stories goes a little numb, yet still a litle bit enjoyable. Still compared to the first season, a let down...

Rokka was also dispointing in the meaning that the story does not got any further...Whos the false one....blablabla...The thruth, they are all false, Adlet is only having a dream in is cell....

I got at least some enjoyment out of every anime I watched this year, but I'll be honest-- as much of a disappointment that the ending of Charlotte was (though, I admit, I did end up hyping it way more than I should have...), nothing was more disappointing than the decision to not include Shigure in the Kancolle anime.

-I know that the production was biased, and that there are always "adult circumstances" and beansprout like that, but come on-- would a brief cameo or fanservice shot during the ending credits have been too much to ask for? Such [selfish] disappointment...

...and don't even get me started about the lack of submarines...

Rokka no yuusha.

I stopped watching after episode 3. The tempo, the storyline.. everything.. It just seems to fall apart for me. I was really hoping it would be good though. Or maybe it's just not for me...

Charlotte - I really wanted to love this show. The first episode looked so interesting, but by the end of the season I just lost all interest.

Rokka no yuusha - The first episode was great. It seemed to be setting things up for an epic adventure, but then we ended up stuck who's the traitor mystery story. And the ending killed it for me all together, and I just ended up feeling more frustrated that I bothered sticking with it.

God Eater
K: Return of Kings

Just sub-par. They weren't awful, but there was nothing drawing me to watch the show. This past season of Fairy Tail was a little slow too, but I still love the show.

I actually enjoyed the Infinite Tsukuyomi filler in Naruto
