What, you mean to say that in general cops are good people and the media simply takes certain incidents and makes them explode? No, no. You must be wrong.

At the same time, the myth of killer cops is just that, a myth.

You would think for me being half black and half Hispanic when I get pulled over the cops would shoot first. Hasn't happened to me and I even been pulled over with a machete in my front seat in plain view. "for cutting mesquite"
Everyone saying how American cops are so bad they should try dealing with the cops in Mexico. In highschool when my friends and I were going on spring break our teacher would remind the class if you go to Mexico make sure you bring your cop fee.

I still stand by the fact that there aren't nearly as many bad cops out there as people would like to think. Having been a troublesome kid, and constantly having my mother call them to try & pin false accusations on me, okay, I have met a few in life who've not treated me very nicely, but I still steadfastly stand by the idea that the good ones outnumber the bad ones.

The cop I met after my first car accident was quite funny. He told me a story about how he lived in a tiny town where they had about two officials who could give the drivers test, and how one of them always failed everyone. Not in the least was the guy mad at me, even though I basically totaled a pole in a shopping center lot. His partner was also pretty understanding. As long as you're not overtly breaking the law, cops really have no understandable reason to be assholes to you.

I believe if something reasonable can be done to curb the police's abuse of power, it should be taken, though I believe it. Cops are actually nice people, most of them. Just my experiences, which don't amount to anything really.

Yea..from my experience, 80% of my encounters with police was either an asshole, an asshole, a rude asshole, and some unreasonable prick. The 20% of the time, hi you were speeding, why, ok, I'll knock off 10 km/h have a nice day.

Other than that cops are just assholes because they want to, because they ultimately can. Everytime I see a cop car drive by it just generally makes me angry. However, there are nice cops to, and some of them are very charismatic and good at their job, but seriously, you can give a man child a gun and badge nowadays, and that's scary.

Whatever obey the law and you won't have to deal with them. Go pay for car insurence, only do 20 over the speed limit if it's posted 60 and over just like everyone else. (Lol don't break the law kids )

Now if this is about cops killing people, lol good luck, good luck indeed.

Yeah most have been brought to justice, but it doesn't solve the rest of them. Whatever, you're wasting your breath unless everyone, and I mean everyone stands up to them. A lot of injustice in the world, because there's a lot of idiots in our world, and idiots will never go away. Man I'm in a ranting venting mood today

You'd go far with that. lol

Personally I've never had a bad encounter with cops. All the cops in my State/city are all good (from what I've see and dealt with). Working as a security guard, I've actually worked closely with a bunch of cops (having to arrest homeless, and teenagers who were caught doing drugs in the bathrooms).

Cops are just like any other group of people. You have some good ones. You have some crazy ones that want to kill people.

Somehow people forget that:"cops have right to be human, though flawed as we are."

Yeah you have good and bad cops. But in most lines of work this shit gets you fired or thrown in jail, far more reliably. And cops should be held to higher than usual standard. Cops getting away with killing, when the evidence directly contradicts what they said, is like finding out that sometimes your drinking water has dangerous levels of lead in it. You what to be able to just pour a glass and know that it isn't poison.

There are good cops and there are bad cops. Just as there is no war on Christmas there is no war on cops. What you see is people trying to get the corrupted and dirty cops off the force and in bars where they belong. Sadly there will be good cops who get caught up in the mess.

Dude posts that provoke vicious political debate along partisan lines have been the status quo in general since they merged it with extended discussion. You're gonna see a lot of those if you stick around. This is one of the rarities that comes from a left rather than a right wing perspective.
