I know it's the Holidays and CR cant stream if nothing is on !

But why should we pay for a fuul month if nothing new airs for almost two weeks .If anything it should be half price for DEC if this the new way of doing things!

This just seems silly to me. Not everyone is here for the simulcasts, and while that's a big part of what Crunchy offers and promotes, in paying a monthly subscription you're paying for all of what Crunchy has--not just the current season. There's a ton of catalog stuff, both recently acquired and shows from past seasons for people to watch. If folks don't feel there's enough to watch during a certain time of year, they can stop their paid membership and resume it when there's more of interest to them.

Well..... No. I see it as 7$ a month for a service on multiple platforms where you can watch anime. Not for the purpose of having new content whenever you want it. It takes time for these animes to air across the world.

Do you buy a coffee everyday? Do you buy something that you really don't need but you do it anyways. Let's say you do just that for a month. It will add up to more than $7 a month for normal premium membership.

So really it's not hurting anyone's wallet. Unless you're getting the premium plus membership, but again that has more to do with using the store and shipping costs.

Doesn't really effect since I subscribe to Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime.

Seriously?

You've been around here long enough to no there is nothing "new" about this. The time approaching New Years has been a lull period every year.

Also, your request assumes that people are only watching the current simulcasts as they air and nothing else; That they never view library titles or any simulcasts from past seasons they didn't get around to. Perhaps you don't use CR, but a lot of people do, especially during a holiday period when they have more time off from work or school.

Personally, I'm streaming pretty well! Marathoning my way through several shows that I wasn't totally sold on at the start, but are decent enough when I have the full season to watch, in fact.

Anyway, having a standard payment rate is pretty.. standard. Sure, there are few new episodes right now, but that's pretty standard as well. Then during the airing seasons, there are a ton - more than I can watch, anyway. I don't mind paying a standard rate for something I use a lot sometimes and a little at others.

I assume you have watched everything in the CR catalogue then? I assume you have also read the entire manga catalogue as-well.

I dont want sound like flaming or taunt but another take on this !

Current shows are a big part of CR 's appeal and selling point !

Yes not everybody watches everything / but I burned through a lot of back titles 4 years ago when only like maybe 5-10 new shows aired ! Times have changed and the new businees model is the new shows whether intentional or not !

So some Fall Shows ended 2 weeks ago and it's going on the 3rd week without anything concrete in place as far as a schedule and the TV Japan is loaded to the teeth this week and next ! So like I said it wiil be closer to 3 weeks even 4 before vthere is full slate of new shows up !

BTW I watched 37 Fall shows / close to 50 Spring Summer / 40 last winter so my staple is new shows ! I been watching anime way before CR was even thought of > Watched on Cartoon Network / Adult Swim / watched Anine Network on Demand / Then Funimation on Demand / We were lucky to get new / older titles shows once a week ! Si I have been there done that !

The anime industry and the Streaming sites created Stream eveything and the fans excpect it all the time now.

Anytime you login simiualcast ads are up front and prevelant.

It shoould not mastter if you want to watch one new show or 35 / it's a promise not being kept !

Different people prioritize different aspects of the service. The new anime is a big draw for me personally. But CR is already free for me in Dec. I occasionally purchase a subscription, but I know not to do so at this time. If you weren't familiar with the broadcast schedule, I could see that it would be an unfortunate surprise, but after that, you can plan to let your subscription expire at this time (you'll might have to miss two weeks of simulcasts if the timing doesn't work out perfectly).

If you have the yearly subscription, and therefore can't simply let it expire month to month, then you're already getting a reduced rate by purchasing the yearly subscription. So in my view CR, is mostly already free or reduced in Dec.

(Wasn't there also an "on hold" feature, where you could freeze your premium subscription for a period of time to prevent your time from ticking down? Or did that feature get removed at some point? If it's still there, then that would be perfect for this situation.)

I don't see (or recall) such an option. Maybe you're thinking of Hulu?

There was such option a very long time ago.
