Something I was afraid of? Past tense? I never stopped being afraid of the things that scare me. I'd get therapy for it, but since being scared of these things has kept me out of danger all this time I feel vindicated.

I was scared of a picture of a goddess I read about in a book who killed pregnant women and took the heads of the babies to wear on a necklace around her head. I forget the name of the book but it still creeps the hell out of me

Hypodermic needles.

As a kid had an absolute terror of these things. My Bro and Sis in 1957 took me to a movie "The Invasion of the Saucer Men" and I was around 7 at the time. Took me years to finally find out what it was about the movie that caused me to be scared for years. The fuckers had hypodermic needles that would come out from under their finger nails.

Shadow demons. You know how staring into darkness makes our eyes make up things with color? That used to scare me, because the swirly shapes resemble demons and monsters, to me. Henceforth, I was afraid of walking to my bed in total darkness. I eventually made a game of chicken out of it, though.

Used to be scared of the dark when I was alone, thinking some kind of paranormal shit would come and kill me. I mean, I got over it because I realise I got other shit to be worried about, (eg overdue homework ). The occasional open closet in the dark will always creep me out though..

Yeah... mean brother's will traumatise you with horror films at a young age...
