For as long as I can remember, I haven't been able to sit still and I'm always day dreaming in a way. I can be somewhat content where I am and with what I'm doing, but I always want to escape somewhere else in a new life. I'll be honest, it got more severe when I got really into anime. All I can think about is escaping into a slice of life anime world going to high school and finding love. Being in the military has made it even worse as I am often in a situation where I don't feel content at all and I feel trapped by my contract.

Anyone else experience this?

I can see were you're coming from. Unfortunately I don't know what to do when one doesn't have a passion for actively doing something....

Well, that's the thing, I do have that, but now for instance, I'm very limited to what I can do due to my military service. I'm stuck that way for almost 4 more years. And besides that, there's often times things that make what I want to do impossible. I'm always doing something, but I just wanna get away all the time. It's hard to explain

Yep, you're not the only one. I've always been daydreaming since I was kid. You know, I just thought that it was too boring to just sit there look at regular stuff. That's how I got into anime and books to begin with, because the world and the stories that they present me are among the few ones that can keep me focus and interested. I also enjoy slice of life because they teach you so much about relationship between people. My favorite now is Kokoro connect. Right now when I escape, I think more of me being in a comedy one like Is This a Zombie, or MM. I know, both are echi harem, but besides that I also like the fact every single character in these types of show has something interesting to say. You'll never ever hear them asking 'whassap", but instead they'll say something like "how about we conquer the world naked." I mean, you can keep daydreaming when someone ask you "Whassap?", but try to keep doing it when someone tells "let's go conquer the world naked." Just try.

When I write fantasy I can loose myself in the main story since the main character of mine is a representation of my personality, one day i pretty much daydreamed my story for about 12 hours straight, got so far ahead that I didn't want to write it down ...

I day dream here and there. its normal. just think when you get out of the military you can go anywhere you want. isn't that what they all do?
