In the next few days all of the serieses for this season will be starting. I suggest Crunchyroll announces which of these they will be showing. Saying they don't have the information is totaly bs since I don't think any serious distributer will be gambling this close to the premiers.

If this is all I think it's time to say goodbye after 4 years membership as the distributers then seems to have lost interest in CR and that we probably will see fewer and fewer of the animes from major distributers. If you say that it's normal that the winter season seldom sees any interesting animes, I have 27 ( I wrote 72 by mistake) animes lined up for watching and concideration this season, here at CR they have around 5 of them so far. Even a few of those we have seen here before have new seasons starting in a few days.

If you read what I wrote you would see that I wrote that it's total bullshit that they haven't decided yet and that CR perfectly well know what they will be airing. 31 of this seasons anime will be starting within 7 days!

They always announce them right up the beginning of the season.

And it's less about information and more about having the deals finalized. And Crunchyroll has a lot of territories to try and cover. So negotiation can take some time i imagine.

I mean if you look here at their winter lineup : http://www.crunchyroll.com/lineup

you can see what they have already announced and what continues from last season. You also see a lot of question marks. In boxes. And here is the thing. The number always grows.

So i would advise a bit of patience. I suspect we'll be getting some announcements starting today.

Also there are drawbacks doing it the way Funimation (Announcing them all at once and weeks early)does it, and the way Crunchyroll (announcing titles either a few days, or the day of the premiere) does it.

In Funimations case, it's that peoples memories are notoriously short, and unless it's a super popular title, for example, Assassination Classroom, people will forget about the fringe titles that Funimation picks up allowing some really decent titles to slip through the cracks.on simulcasting.

In Crunchyroll's case, we get people like the OP, who are antsy about the new title announcements and think they should be done earlier. CR also deals with quite a few other companies for simulcasting, and have to wait until their deals are officially done before being able to announce them.

edit: Funimation is starting to deal with Aniplex and Daisuki to expand their simulcast roster, which is the correct move to do. If they ever get Sentai's full simulcasting, then you should start being worried. The fact that CR wasn't able to simulcast Chivalry of a Failed Knight is a minor red flag, but only if that trend continues into this quarter.

Second season of Gate will start on Friday and Snowwhite with the Red Hair next Monday, why isn't those mentioned? I take it there are more.

Because, if they know they should post, otherwise it seems to me that they are toying with their subscribers. Remember that every single anime that airs will be available, free of charge, within a couple of hours of airing, from certain shady sites on the Internet.

I don't remember what my subscription fee is, but it's probably around $10, and for that price I expext honesty.

how are they being dishonest?

They have a page that shows things they have for the new season, there are a bunch of blank spots reprisenting stuff they havn't annouced yet

There is nothing dishonest in any of that.

It's just not instant gratification for the NOW NOW NOW crowd

I think you are wrong thre. If people are interested, they will be paying customers and they will have marked them. When it comes to nonpaying customers they are unreliable and really cant be counted on in the budget. Remember that anime is a niche product. Even in Japan they only have a customer base of max 1%. A US company would think twice about even going in to a bussiness with that low a return on investment.

And doesn't this show a possible trend of the Japanese producers thinking seriously about choosing one common distributor in the US? It would be a smart move, both by them and the US distributor as the possibility of a stronger follower base it might even capture new anime entusiates.

And as a serious anime follower I am among the NOW NOW NOW crowd, and my guess is that many of the paying customers are in that crowd. I want to know, and I pay for it.

You seem to be working under the assumption it's just a matter of politely asking and signing a paper and then that's it.

It's not really that straightforward i am afraid. These things take time to get sorted out. Plus there can be numerous parties involved. There is a reason why Crunchyroll and Funimation are going into the anime production business. It means less of a hassle in the longer run.

As for why shows like Gate aren't mentioned. Who knows. Again. It's a matter of negotation.
