If you dont already have a child lets assume that you do have a son also for the sake of the argument i'm not talking about anything extreme or crazy just some regular run of the mill stuff. He doesnt have to be 13 exactly(any age under 16 is fine) but I chose 13 because its when your considered a teen. Personally I feel like moms are more opposed to this then dads are from personal experiences. I would be ok with it since i'm a guy and I know what its like being around that age and unless the kid has issues I dont think it would create any problems.

What are your thoughts?

If he's mature enough to handle it at that young age, I'm fine with it.

If he's about as mature as the vast majority are at that young age, absolutely NOT, but there's probably not much I can do about it TBH.

Have you ever been on the internet before? You do a simple Google image search and you always get some porn in with the search.

i know theres not much you can do about it but some parents go as far as beating their child, putting them on punishment, putting locks/filters on the internet, lecturing them on why they shouldnt watch it because it is bad or disgusting or w.e.

The issue people have with it is the whole objectification issue and expecting unrealistic body types issue and how most of porn degrades people.

If I ever let my teenager watch porn I'd only let them watch animated, I don't think porn is ethical for the actors involved in (real life?) porn(pertaining to the treatment of porn actors/stars). Once they're 18 they can do whatever they want and watch whatever they want, as long as they don't bring people home when I'm there.

I'd probably have to talk to him about it. I'd rather he didn't get the introduction to porn that I did.

pretty much one of many reasons why I honestly don't think there's much I could do about it. I can say "don't do that", but let's be honest here: he's gonna do that shit anyway.

*edit* the guy above me has the best idea. You can punish all you want, but it's still gonna happen. Best thing to do is try and teach them about it instead.

what objecting issue? how does it degrade people? what ethical issues are involved? and the worst porn i've seen was animated, not sure why you think animated is better than regular porn. im pretty sure most hentei are rape fantasies. and i'm familar with the argument that it creates unrealistic body expectations but does it really? I've never met anyone that had these expectations

Of course I wouldn't care I have a distinct memory of being 13 and sitting in class trying to not be distracted by a hentai game I had played online the night before. I couldn't get the image of boobs out of my head and every time I closed my eyes it came back. I'm pretty it's normal to look at porn by age 13 and when I was that age I knew boys younger than me who watched porn.

No. I wouldn't be okay with it. I wouldn't make it easy to access but I wouldn't block it entirely.

Honestly I just don't wanna know about it tbh.

Well it depends on the person, so then it would really depend on the kid in question. Animated porn is more removed from reality so there's less of a chance of emulating it, though that's just an assumption that could be false. Don't think there's an illegal trade involving actual people with animated porn either, though I haven't checked that

This happens to male porn stars as well but more prominently to females, Director tells them to do something they don't want to do but they're forced to do it, heavy drug and alcohol use is encouraged, those are a couple of examples off the top of my head

Beyond that though, if one doesn't know the source of the porn in question one could be watching sex slaves that are being forced.

Obviously not all have these issues, but the majority do.

In terms of body types, it promotes unhealthy expectations appearance wise and performance wise of women and men, generally marketed towards men(male porn stars included).

Yes, only if he were mature enough to have a serious conversation on the subject.
