Have you thought about possibility that which you deem as terrible grammar is the best someone can utter at given point of time? It's not necessarily just sloppy writing, there might be other reasons like cognitive disorders.

I'm referring to MY terrible grammar.

Imagine this

Guy #1
- English is not his primary language; he learned four languages prior to learning English.
- He uses comma, punctuation, and correctly applies capitalization and contractions.

Guy #2
- The first language he learned was English, and he knows no other languages except English.
- All of his posts are riddled with grammatical errors.
- And, he attempts to insult the intelligence of guy #1.

I don't mind people correcting my grammar. In fact, I actually welcome it. I'd rather someone, politely, correct my error, than allow me to continue being grammatically wrong. .

The only time I'd frown upon such an act is if they're meaning for the correction to be an insult.

It depends. Sometimes it comes across as a real dick move like on some "iam more intelligent than you" type shit, other times it's funny like trolling.
Some people do really deserve it though.

The ones who usually do try correcting your grammar while getting theirs wrong.

Goes something like this.

Me: It's not theres
Other person: it's not "theirs"

Notice "it's" This is where they usually forget to capitalize thus failing to actually correct anything. Happens all the time on MMO's.

Offline I don't care for people correcting my grammar; its probably intentional. Online, however, I'm fine with getting my grammar corrected. It is nice to know the rules for when I have to sound professional/smart in text!

I don't mind to be corrected as long as it was at an appropriate place or setting and was done with good intention and respect.
