Plot Summary

For high schooler Kei—and for at least forty-six others—immortality comes as the nastiest surprise ever.

Sadly for Kei, such a feat doesn't make him a superhero. In the eyes of both the general public and governments, he's a rare specimen who needs to be hunted down and handed over to scientists to be experimented on for life—a demi-human who must die a thousand deaths for the benefit of humanity.

BD is out now in raw. The movie aired in Japanese theaters months ago.

The movie is over an hour long and I thought it was interesting.

Started off with some action and Kei soon his normal life turned upside down. The music they used for the transformation scenes was pretty thrilling especially when one of them interrupts the fight. There was minimal to no censorship so glad to see that. Got used to the CGI animation as well. It's not even that bad imo. The Ajin fight at the end was kinda fun to watch. I wonder how faithful the TV series will adapt the movie but I guess they might extend some scenes. Definitely worth the watch especially if you're a fan supernatural seinen with a bit of horror. The CGI isn't that hard to get used to.

So just watched the movie and realized the TV series was just what happened in the movie, but after watching movie it was really awesome so far. But I kinda wanted Kei to join Satou.

Which one is better? The series or the movie?

They were both literally the same lol. The first 5 episodes of the TV series is 20 mins * 5 of the movie, so I'm pretty sure of the 140 mins of the movie is the first 7 episodes of the series. Considering there are 5 episodes of the TV series right now you should just watch the movie if you want to know what happens in the first 7 episodes of the TV series and then wait until episode 8 and onward is broadcasted. Noticed no difference between the movie and TV series so unless you just want to watch the TV series because you want to watch in 20 minute increments, then just watch the movie.
